Since Ninjago is reaching its 10 year anniversary, I'm wondering if you remember what you were doing while you were watching Ninjago and how that has changed throughout the series.
For example in my life:
During Season 1 and 2, I started my freshman year of high school and I remember quoting Ninjago lines to my friend. During Season 3 and 4, I started my senior year of high school and listened to the Ninjago soundtrack as I did programming assignments. I finished Season 5 a few days before my high school graduation. I watched Season 6 while I was in my dorm in my freshman year of college. I watched Day of the Departed and remember chatting about it before the LMBs closed. I had to skip Season 7 because my laptop broke during my sophomore year of college, but I came back to it after I finished Season 8. Season 8 and 9 helped give me something to look forward to every week during my toughest years of college. I watched season 10 and 11 after I graduated college. Finally, season 12 and 13 have given me something fun to watch during this era of COVID-19.
Overall, even though Ninjago has had its ups and downs of consistency and inconsistency, the way I've watched Ninjago has changed in the last ten years, and the fandom has certainly changed in the last ten years. Despite all of that, no matter what has happened Ninjago has always given me some kind of joy and excitement during the most major points of my life. Not very many LEGO themes have this kind of legacy of being with a fandom so much that the fandom has grown up.
Now I'm curious, what do you remember during your time of watching Ninjago?

Great topic.
It's really cool that Ninjago was so integrated into your life.
I really wish I had some amazing story to tell like I watched the seasons back to front, on the moon, while under attack by aliens. But I think I mostly binge-watched the seasons.

Thanks.
Yeah, though probably not as integrated as other people. I also just remembered that the most interesting thing comparing seasons 1-5 and seasons 6-13 was the way I watched Ninjago. Back in seasons 1-3, I watched Ninjago on TV, and recorded the episodes on the DVR. Ever since Season 6 I just watched it on my laptop whenever they were available.
I'm sure you'll have something interesting. Most of the things I've said was just where I was when I watched it. That would be an interesting story. Nice, I binged watched the most recent seasons.

Wow, that's quite a change, from TV to labtop.
Indeed.
Yes, it's hard to stop watching them all, once you've watched one.

Yeah. Pretty crazy how the times have changed.
Lol.
Yep, always gotta find out where the ninja are going next and what enemy lies ahead.
Yep, always gotta find out where the ninja are going next and what enemy lies ahead.
Very.
I suppose that's why Ninjago is so successful.
Yeah.
Exactly, and I love the diversity of enemies too like skeletons, snakes, nindroids, pirate djinns, ghosts, and all kinds of characters. It really keeps it fresh each season.
I watched the entirety of Ninjago at the time (which was up 'till the latest episodes of Skybound) with my siblings within several months. At that time we were moving, and for everyone who's ever moved from one place to another, y'all know how absolutely jarring and stressful that period can be. So when Mock started watching the first two seasons and invited us to watch with him, it was a great way to forget about our worries and stress. I remember, after an accident and a long, long evening at the hospital I came back to our hotel room and was just so tired and sad and I asked feebly, "Can we watch Ninjago? " It was just so fun and lighthearted and yet I was becoming more and more invested in the characters and story by each episode. We watched Rebooted up to Skybound in our new house, surrounded by packages and luggage. On Halloween-ish night we stayed up late to catch Day of the Departed airing on CartoonNetwork. The episode itself was disappointing, but the experience of anticipation and staying up late was fun. We watched The Hands of Time and The Sons of Garmadon as soon as we could without getting spoilers. I remember all of us freaking out so often at the end of almost every SoG episode. It's still one of my all-time favorite seasons. Hunted aired while we were on a summer trip to visit family, but we'd stay up late when we could to watch the new episodes as soon as we could. At the last few episodes we'd freak out as quietly as we could because everyone else in the house was typically asleep by that time. It was the same case when Fire & Ice aired, but with much less enthusiasm. xD
Now we're finally working our way through Prime Empire, and I do hope I'll get to see Master of the Mountain without too many spoilers first.
Now for what it's worth, despite all the recent seasons and things I dislike, I've got massive respect for the writers and producers for making this show last as long as they have. I don't know what problems and complications they face behind the scenes, angry fans aside, but I think they're trying and they have my respect for that and for how far they've come.
So I started watching Ninjago back in 2012. At the time season 1 was airing. Me and my siblings eventually starting recording it so we wouldn't miss any episodes. Than we watched season 2 as it aired and was all the more excited about it. I think we watched the pilot episodes after season 1, but it might have been after season 2. I was homeschooled and also heavily involved with 4-H at the time.
In 2013 Ninjago didn't air at all and I honestly feared that was going to be Ninjago's end. However I did read the Ninjago books and rewatched the episodes that I had already seen. I alsdo took up the habit of watching Ninjago every morning.
Season 3 aired bit by bit throughout 2014. But there was also the books, and online videos and games to enjoy in the waiting time. Seasons 4 and 5 aired in 2015. I was doing homeschool and was still heavily involved in 4-H. I also did karate during those years and a few others I think. 2015 was also when I made an account on the LMBs. This was also when I started watching Ninjago YouTubers.
2016 we had moved to a place without cable so we had to watch season 6 online in front of the computer. We also watched seasons 7 - 9 that way I believe. I graduated in 2017. Aged out of 4-H in 2018. And became much more active on the internet over the years.
I watched season 10 on my birthday in 2019 I think.
Then we got cable again so I watched seasons 11 and 12 on TV. Plus I've been doing stuff with my church and online the whole time. Plus I suppose I could add in a bunch of other stuff I've been doing over the years while watching Ninjago, but that would be half of my entire life story.

Awesome! Definitely really cool seeing that Ninjago was a great way to relax during the times when it was tough.
Hopefully you'll be able to watch the rest of the series without spoilers.
That's great. It's had its ups and downs for sure, but considering they've lasted this long really shows that Ninjago is clever in its own way.

Hehe, since Ninjago is nearing 10 years, it really is almost half of our life stories.
I remember first watching Ninjago seasons 1-2 on loop during the summer vacation between fourth and fifth grade, in 2013, when Ninjago was "asleep." I joined the original LEGO Message Boards in early 2014, and I wrote some honestly bad stories looking back, but I made friends; I sometimes pay a visit to any sort of Internet archive to relive the memories. However, I fell "out of love" with Ninjago in around 2015 due to having not watched in a while and other interests taking over.
In late 2017, in my freshman year, the LEGO Ninjago Movie brought back my love for the franchise. I met my best friend (BearSoliloquy) through sharing a usage of the LMB Eternal (as the Brick Boards was once called), and finished season 3 and watched seasons 4-7 and Day of the Departed (and Wu's Teas ); season 6 was probably my favorite then.
In early 2018, I was still a freshman, but the hype for season 8 felt as fresh as I was. I also watched season 9 in the summer.
I was so excited for Season 10 in my sophomore year, and I wasn't disappointed. Season 11 probably came out between my sophomore and junior years, and though the Fire Chapter I didn't enjoy much, the Ice Chapter was amazing. I watched season 12 around spring 2020 and I loved it.
Season 13, on the other hand, made me nervous. I was excited for a Cole season, but the idea of sorcery and spirit warriors made me shrink back (although there was already the "ritual" in season 8, so...). I did watch a few episodes, and I enjoy it a bit, so I may watch more, but I do feel a tad bit cautious.

Yep.
Exactly.
Never thought a LEGO theme could last this long again.
