Hey, everyone! As you of course know, LEGO MARIO is a thing! So I have some questions. I was looking into getting the starter set, and here are some things I was wondering about:
Is it a good value for 60 bucks?
Is it fun to play with?
Is it good for display?
Is it worth it to wait a month to get it after it's ordered?
Is there a place with a better price/faster shipping? (Than Amazon or Lego.com)

I guess maybe no one here has managed to get their hands on it either.

I don't have it, but from what I can tell-
The game itself works by the Mario figure reading QR codes on different items. If you wanted you could take Mario straight from the warp pipe to the flag pole without any walking whatsoever. In addition, it doesn't seem possible for Mario to lose a life, so gameplay-wise it's preeeetty abstract and kiiiind of pointless, if not fascinating.
As for display, I'll just ask you: would you display a Hot Wheels track in your room? If the answer is yes, then maybe.
I don't know the answers to any other questions. But I do know Mario Maker is $59.99 and those are real playable levels with challenge sooo...

Thanks man, I think I'll pass on Lego Mario. I've been doing some thinking and as I pre-ordered Super Mario 3D All-Stars, that will keep me occupied for a while. And I do have Mario Maker, so I guess I won't get it. I appreciate the help though!

I don't think the set itself is worth the money, the price per tile is terrible and to have fun with the play features you have to buy a lot of the other sets. It is also not unlikely that a new starter set will come out in January, which could be more interesting.
