I think that it might be time for a new Author's Hangout; Author's Hangout #8 is 204 pages long... and the MBs are long gone! Good job everyone! Long live authors! This topic is dedicated to past legends in the BIONICLE LMB writing community such as Nokama1854, Rahaga806, ArghYeMatey, iHuntress, SDR4491, Nicholas749, MichaelYoda, and Ehlek333.

Dedicated to “ArghYeMatey” and “Rahaga806,” who started this wild ride, and also to “A_RNN,” who never got to see it end.WHAT OF SHADOW?An Apprentice StoryBy Keplers Original concept by “Rahaga806” Inspired by the “BIONICLE” franchise Today, when I read the tales woven by my once-called “heroes,” I gag. Perhaps the fault lay in the universes they were forced to inhabit, perhaps it lay in the side that had taken them. Regardless, there was something incontrovertibly wrong on which both of my former heroes had agreed: the “evil” of Shadow. I hope to dissuade you from their illogical absolutes and moral justifications. Their hatred is unfounded, for they never did see what lay beneath the surface of their sandbox, Mata Nui. They never saw Destral.
(I promise, this time I'm going to finish it.)

Heh, I remember this, it reminds me of Chepler. Can't wait to revisit this story.

Chapter 1
I remember the night very well. It made for a striking, indelible image, so how could I forget? The rain fell with unusual might, the thunder pealed with the sound of cannon. If the events of that night had not been reality, I would have discarded the setting as too cliché to play witness to the nightmare that would unfold. After all, everyone knows that “monsters” are born on dark and stormy nights. An author once wrote a highly observant utterance about that: “From even the greatest of horrors irony is seldom absent.” How relevant.
I apologize. This is only my first attempt at recording the history of my life. I may digress more than I should. I am here to record how I came to be here in my present state, and not on the reflections of antiquated novelists. It was a dark and stormy night. The rain came down on the roof with the force of furious deluge, and the wind battered a leafless branch onto my window, creating an eerie, staccato ratta-tap-tapping that only served to remind me of the sound of machine guns. Being the military history enthusiast that I was, the rain and the tapping combined spelled two distinct words for me: “the Somme.” Inspired by the moment, I went to the Wikipedia article for that legendary battle, idly looking for names or weapons that would carry me off on a tangent of research. As I did this, I would occasionally turn my attention back to old BIONICLE serials, or to a hidden, archived edition of the first Apprentice story. Of course, I know now that neither the “canon” nor the stories were accurate to the truth, the reality of what lay below. I remain glad that Inharax was not real; his behavior was far from that of a true Makuta.
(Real talk, I never realized how long the first chapter is... or maybe how short the character limit is? Maybe both.)
