“Everything’s ready.” I told him with a triumphant smirk. “We’re ready to roll.” “Are you sure? Absolutely positive?” He asked. We’d been preparing for this for a while now. “Yep, I’ve double checked, and triple checked.” I assured, then gestured to our bikes. “Let’s go!” “Right!” He nodded as we hopped on our hover-bikes. We took the quickest route to our destination, cutting straight through the city at the painfully slow speed limit (slow in my opinion, at least). Soon, after passing the small Pirates district and the much larger Harry Potter district, we came to beginning of our destination. The beautiful, elegant Mod Tower Gardens wrapped around the Mod Tower, spreading out in a circle, easily three acres large. Guards were stationed everywhere. Not that people weren’t allowed to visit the gardens, but the guards were there to make sure people didn’t get to the Tower. Too bad for them. Eli and I parked outside the gardens in the nearest parking lot and then went over the plan again. “...so after we meet back up again in the top room, you’ll enter the code,” Eli said. “Yep, then you’ll stand guard to watch for you-know-who, while I grab the you-know-what which shall-not-be-named.” I finished with a nod. “Sounds good to me.” “Same, let’s go.” He replied and darted away into the gardens. I silently bid him good luck and then ducked into the hedge around most of the gardens as a guard neared. Admittedly, I’m not fond of taking a faceful of leaves and twigs but I had little other choice. Carefully, quietly, I climbed through the hedge to the other side, on the inside of the gardens. The part I was in was filled with a grove of thick, bushy trees, tall bushes and large, wide bushes cut into shapes. There were paths on either sides and the part of garden was triangular and led up to the tower.
Gotcha. I wonder when Mock and his sister's will be back.
Today. >:3
You know, not many stories--on the LMBE or published ones--often give me that special, fuzzy-excited feeling that comes with only really special books.
This is one of those that does give me that feeling.
Yay! You're back! ^.^
That makes me really happy to hear. I'm really glad, and thank you, Tigress, that means so much that you look forward to it that much. ^.^

Oh yeah, good point, and besides ** * ******** **** ***, ** ***** **** *** ***** ***** ***** not ** **** so * **** *** *** *** time being.
what are the odds neko actually knows every word under those asterisks
.000000000000000000000000000000000001%? I have no idea what he's saying (though I wonder if it isn't anime references xD) and he has no idea what I'm saying and we both have no idea what the other's talking about.
I darted through the grove quickly and found another path. There were no guards, at least not near enough to see me, so I hurried across the path to the other side. There I casually strolled down the path, surrounded by hedges on either side, and after a few minutes of hiding and darting and casually-walking-so-as- not-to-look-suspicious-to-nearby-guards, I found myself at the base of Mod Tower, in a small grove of trees. The Mod Tower was a massive circular skyscraper that rose high into the air. There were rows of windows on the sides and there was a helicopter pad on the roof. Once the guards had past, I crept around to the main doors in. There were two guards there but they wouldn’t be a problem. I quietly pulled tranquilizer gun out of my bag and two carefully aimed darts hit the guards before they could blink. Both looked around in surprise, but didn’t see me, I didn’t think, and slumped to ground, snoring. Casually, I walked past the sleeping guards and typed a code, M0D- P0W3R-RUL35, into the keypad on the double doors. The doors unlocked and slid open silently as I slipped in. They closed behind me and and quickly darted into the elevator. This was risky, yes, but according to map of the tower and its guards I’d found on the black market, there were none stationed where I was going. I pressed the button for floor one-hundred and waited, growing increasingly irritating with the stupid elevator music. After a moment, I reached the top floor and carefully scanned the room before me. It was a long corridor lined with seemingly endless doors and no one--Ah! A janitor! The mop-wielding janitor was in the middle of the hall and about fifteen feet away. His back was turned so he didn’t see me as he cleaned the floor but I doubted that’d last. I hesitated for a moment but then knocked him out with a dart. There weren’t any security cameras in the hallway, which surprised me, but that worked to my advantage. The door at the end of the hall was marked ‘Mods Only’ (which was dumb since the whole tower was mod-only), and was locked with a keypad.
I typed in the code 50-N07-C00L-M0D5 and the highly-secured Mod-Only entrance opened, revealing a room full of computers and a desk and file cabinets. The Administrator’s office. Quark had a nice office, big and open and bright, it was shaped like a square and two of the walls were massive, curved windows. She deserved it though, she’s a good administrator for the City. She was also sitting in an office chair at the large, oak desk, on the computer. I crept up behind her and was about to knock her out but, of course, she saw my reflection on the computer’s screen. “What the--?!” Quark cried, whirling around. “Surprise.” I smirked and knocked her out. Quark slumped limply against in her chair, stunned and unconscious. I heard a shout from behind the main door into the room as well as Eli’s voice and next thing I knew, he walked in, leaving two unconscious guards outside. “Were you spotted?” We asked each other at the same time. “You first,” I added. “Sort of, but not directly.” He replied. “The guards outside the door saw me, but their sleeping on the job now and they wouldn’t have seen my face.” “Good.” I nodded and gestured to Quark, “Same. Quark saw me but she’s napping now. We’d best hurry up before she or the guards wake up and report us.” “Yeah,” Eli agreed and took a seat at a different computer which monitored the hall outside the Admin’s office. I typed a code, ANC13N7-4ND-5UP3R-D34DLY-4ND-C001-4R71F4CT-7H1N6, into the computer Quark had been at. A rumble sounded from the heart of the Mod Tower and the floor vibrated and shook faintly. I whirled around and flashed a nervous glance at Eli. “That doesn’t sound good.” I murmured. Then, a pneumatic hiss was heard and the circular marking in the middle of the floor split open and pedestal of sorts rose out of the floor. The rumbling grew louder then stopped abruptly as the pedestal came to a stop and the tall glass case on top was illuminated by small lights on it.
There it was. The Soulbinder, Legacy of Lost Heroes. The Soulbinder. The weapon forged of mystical, technological forces and bound together by the souls of our hero ancestors. Or that what the legends said. I had my own purposes for the sword. It was gorgeous, the sword was. The hilt was silver and curved slightly with a stylized pommel and guard, and was carved with glowing blue inscriptions. There was a large, intricately cut, glowing orange gem set in the guard. The blade was long, about three feet, and curved to a vicious point. The blade wasn’t steel or iron or any other metal like a normal sword, no, it was slightly transparent and a glowing neon blue, like illuminated glass. I had been told stories of the ancient sword as a child and had recently begun looking into it. Supposedly, the sword had been a last defense for the Elembia warriors against the Dark Mods during the War for Elembia. They had created a magical weapon infused with the souls of their fallen moderator comrades and warriors to battle the evil mods. It had failed but somehow the relic had been preserved for at least a hundred years in Mod Tower, having survived the Great Destruction of the original Elembian lands. Rumor has it, the late Admin, Helios, brought it with him when he and our founders came here and created Eternal City. He guarded it with his life and had passed it on to Quark when he retired and later passed on. I had read about it in a book of Elembian legends and it’d struck my curiosity so I did some research, recruited Eli and developed a plan to acquire it. I know what you’re thinking; ‘Neko, how could you! Steal an ancient, national treasure all for what? To sell it to the highest bidder?!’ Yeah, well, I have my reasons for the sword and selling it ain’t one of them. I cautiously approached the pedestal, opened the door of the glass case and carefully lifted the sword from its thin, yet durable, rack.
