Well, Cole’s Tea will be my first short, but I’ve done stop motion a lot, and I’m working on a 10 minute movie, actually.
Really? Woah, that pretty cool. What's the movie about?
Thanks.
It’s called Transformers: Haven Relic. A (completely non-canon) Transformers film about a team of Autobots trying to protect some ancient relics while being constantly attacked by the evil Decepticons who’ve been chasing them across the galaxy. The Autobots, who are low on fuel, discover a planet called Earth where they are attempting to land and refuel, but the Decepticons have found them once again and are boarding the Autobot ship in an attempt to take the relics and use them to conquer Cybertron.

So yeah, I’d say it’s something.
Sounds pretty solid! Do the Decepticons win? Is it hard to animate Transformer figures? I've seen a motion with the figures and it seems like it would be pretty tricky.

Nah, Optimus Prime comes in and knocks Megatron’s head in once he blasts Bumblebee’s voice transmitter out. Then they all have to abandon ship because the ship’s been damaged and is going to crash on earth, and then the escape pods they used get separated on the way down. Yay, cliffhangers and opportunity for a second movie!
It really depends on the figure. Some are actually pretty easy to pose and such, so it would be easier than you’d think. However, there are some that are simply just not that posable, whether it be from weak joints, or just no posability (is that a word?) whatsoever, like those cheap “one-step-changers”. I mean, it can transform at the touch of a button, but it literally can’t do anything else? So yeah, some of them are hard to animate with, others aren’t. Like I said, it just depends on the figure. (Incidentally, the ones that are actually easy to animate with are easier to use than LEGO minifigures, mostly because they have elbows, knees, waist, neck, and ankle joints.)

Ah, nice! Are you going to make a second movie?
(Spellcheck says it's not. I thought it was a word, though.) Ah, makes sense. With all those joints it must be a pain to reconfigure if they get messed up. XP Have you started on filming or are you in the scripting stage?

Yup! Definitely!
(Yeah, that’s why I was confused. I thought it was, too. I’ve heard it before...) It definitely is. Now try doing onscreen transformation sequences with them. XD I’m actually almost done with the filming! It’s already over 10 minutes, so that’s cool. I was dared by my friend to make a 10 minute stop motion movie, and seeing it almost done is super cool!

Awesome! So, you like to do these stop motions just for fun?
Oh, just hearing about that sounds painful, oh goodness. And the ones with like a billion moving parts, ahh! XD Woah, that's pretty impressive! How long has it taken you to get this far? Ha ha! Ya smashed that dare into a million pieces. XD
