Hithrol smiles. "I appreciate when my new Riders are eager to learn. In this job, one can never stop learning."d
"I bet. There's so much to keep track of." He passes a bit of meat to a tail-wagging Robin. In doing so, he sneaks a look at the table where Maicyn sits. Curiosity can't help but get the better of him.
Maicyn is sitting at the same table as Azril, with her family, the Jiwovzes.

He wonders if he should attempt to start a conversation with her, then decides she probably wouldn't thank him for it. He looks away and shovels more food into his mouth while Robin bends his head and starts sniffing around the table for crumbs.

Indeed, Maicyn is silent throughout the rest of the meal. Everyone else chats amiably as they eat. As they finish, Azril sees Obsȃr approaching the table. "Ya ready to get to work, lad?"

"Yes, sir."
"What I like to hear. C'mon then." Along with his other apprentices, Obsȃr leads Azril to the forge.

He looks around. "What'll I be learning first?"
"We'll start ya off with some basics. The plow horses need reshoeing afore planting season." Obsȃr sets Azril to work with a couple of the more senior apprentices, who are able to answer any questions he has and help him through the process.

Surprisingly, most of Azril's questions regard only where the equipment is. He helps re-shoe the horses with surprising familiarity, having done it often enough in his hometown. He is friendly with the other apprentices and gentle with the horses as he works. Robin, aware of how skittish horses can be, sits by the threshold out of the way and has an after-meal nap.

It is past sunset when Obsȃr finally releases the apprentices, though the friendly atmosphere of the forge makes the time go by quickly. Despite that, the demanding work in the forge has exhausted Azril more than any of his other training. As he begins to leave, Obsȃr pulls him aside. "Good work today. I'll have something a little more complicated for ya tomorrow. And we'll keep working up until I can assess your skill level."

"'Course ya will. Otherwise, I wouldn't'a let ya join my apprentices."
Azril returns to his house for the night. Is there anything he'd like to do before he goes to sleep?
OOC: LordTigress , is there anything you want to do?
OOC: Oops, somehow missed this. XP I'm not sure--I know you want a storyline with Azril and Maicyn. Any suggestions for how I can help that develop?
OOC: That's alright. Yes, that is the trajectory we're currently on. I do have to set a few things up to get there, and I want to set the stage for what's going on with the rest of the Riders, which I'll be doing with a couple time jumps. It shouldn't be long now. In the meantime, it might be good for Azril to find some opportunity to hang out with Maicyn and get to the point where she might want him on her quest.

OOC: Gotcha. So, is now a good time for him to kinda check up on her and be like, "you SUUURRE you're OK?"
