Not sure if this is real or not, but apparently Abrams was quoted as saying "Rey’s parents are not in Episode VII. So I can’t possibly in this moment tell you who they are. This is all I will say: It’s something that Rey thinks about too." He then retracted saying “What I meant was that she doesn’t discover them in Episode VII. Not that they may not already be in her world.”
I guess four things come from this. 1. He was telling the truth the first time and Rey's parents are not in Episode VII. 2. He somehow did not comprehend how his first quote would be interpreted and Rey's parents were in Episode VII but Rey didn't know. <- It's obvious she doesn't know. 3. They're just making things up as they go, therefore they have/had not decided on her heritage. 4. Abrams is talking rubbish to cause even more speculation. <- Good advertising.
The first point seems unlikely as linear SW films are about the Skywalkers not any other family. While the second point is ridiculous. There is no way he could accidentally say that her parents were not in Episode VII as a happy mistake. Rey's parents not in Episode VII is very different from Rey not knowing her parents. Besides, we already know that Rey has little idea of her heritage. This second point goes with the forth. It seems he's talking rubbish as advertisement for future SW films. The third point seems unlikely, but I would not be surprised if it were true. Personally, I think the forth point is true.
Because of his role in abetting the rise of the Empire, he was once again exiled by his people. After the Battle of Endor and the rise of the New Republic, he performed in the streets of Theed as a clown and street performer, who was popular with children but not so much with their parents. Many Gungan and Naboo adults refused to speak to him or say his name. Binks entertained the children by performing numerous antics including wagging his tongue, juggling glombo shells, spitting fish up in the air and catching them, dancing around, and swallowing and flushing out water through his ears.

What do you all think?
I think it's quite obvious that they have had it all planned from the start. VII, VIII, and IX, I mean.

Lots of writers make up things as they go. For instance, JKR only decided on removing (to put it a nice way) characters while she was writing. She had a cemented plot, but not the finer details. Just saying that I would not be surprised if Rey's parents are/were undecided. Have they started filming Episode VIII yet?

Yeah, but the main character's parentage seems like a pretty big detail, and one that should already be planned.

Children are the only people who do like him. Not counting those who believe the Sith theory.
I never liked him and neither did my brothers. I don't think I've met anyone who did like him. The Sith theory makes him cool, but still excruciatingly annoying. He's a really 'dumbed' down character and I think that's why people rejected him.

Still, he's the kind of character that some little kids would really like. All the silly, dumb noises and nonsensical jumping, the grabbing fruit with his tongue, the waving his long ear flap things all over the place. Kids love that kind of thing. Beats me why, but many of them do.
I posted this theory about how Snoke is really Darth Maul on the MBs a while back, but there is even more evidence to support it now, so I'll be adding that at the end.
Okay, so before we get into the theory, I'm going to recap everything that we know FOR SURE about Superme Leader Snoke (most of which we know thanks to the novelization of The Force Awakens):
- Snoke is an alien - Snoke witnessed the rise an fall of the Empire - Snoke had at least one apprentice before Kyle Ren
Now, for who I think Snoke is...
Darth Maul
Okay, Darth maul is an alien, just like Snoke. Maul witnessed the rise and (while we have to wait until Rebels is over to be sure) probably the fall of the Empire. Snoke 's first apprentice could quite very well be Ezra, and since I feel like Ezra would have been involved in the events that take place in Rogue One, he probably turns to the Dark Side before A New Hope.
Why else would Lucasfilm decide to continue Maul's story through Rebels? Plus, if Rey is a Kenobi, Thisbe would be amazing storytelling. Rey, eventually having to defeat her grandfather's old enemy.
Obviously, Snoke looks very differently from Maul, but if Maul gets major injuries in Rebels, if his tattoos fade and his horns are, say, burnt off, he could look quite like Snoke.
And don't say Disney afraid to bring stories from the TV shows into the movies, as Saw Gerrera appears in Rogue One (which isn't a spoiler because he is in the trailers).
If you think about it, Rebels could very well have been created to tie into the movies, first by showing how the rebellion got to the point it is at in Rogue One, and to show how Maul became Snoke. And don't forget, J.J. Abrams said that's Snoke isn't really a Sith, and we saw Maul pretty much revoke the Sith in The Clone Wars and Rebels.
And before you say that's Darth Maul would be too old, Sith can live longer with their Dark Side powers, like Sidious did.
New evidence: Episide VIII's title card is red. The only time the Star Wars logo has been red before was in some Maul episodes of The Clone Wars. Also, in the trailer for Rebels season 3, we see that Maul will duel Obi-Wan, the possible cause of the major injuries we see on him as Snoke. Thirdly, a Darth Maul comic series for Marvel has been announced, proving that Lucasfilm wants to flesh out his backstory even more.
So, what's everyone think. If you have any evidence to disprove it, I do want to hear it!
I strongly disagree with this theory cos to use Maul yet again and keep him alive would be ridiculous and officially overkill if you pardon the pun cos hes already dead. I think Snoke i s either s a new character like an ancient alien from the unknown regions, and advisor of the emperor/secret contigency apprentice, Ransolm Casterfo(because he was a friend of Leia & Snokes offically anounced to be once friends with her) or the new cannon version of Darth Plaguise.
Ok. I like that first theory, however I can't quite think that Smoke is Darth Maul. I'm not saying that your wrong; mostly because that may end up being the case. I personally haven't seen the logo in "red", but it's normal colors.
As for Rey, I wanna believe that she is Luke's daughter, not the Solos'.
For one, she is strong in the Force, and that goes with the Skywalkers, however Leia doesn't seem to be that strong in the Force, but it does seem that she has a Force connection. After all, she did sense when:
Whether that's from lack of training or the Force not being majorly with her, I can't say.
Plus: Rey had found Luke's Lightsaber. I also think Han and Leia would have said something about her when they were talking about Ren, or when they first saw her. If she is Luke's daughter, it would probably be a secret one he didn't want anyone to know about.
Finally: I can't remember at the moment. Bye guys.
I agree with you, but I still think Rey Solo is a possibility, because it's Anakin's Lighgesaber, and she would still be Anakin's granddaughter. I do think Han would have said something, but "I am your brother" would certainly be more of a surpirse than "I am your cousin"
Thats exactly what Ive been saying all along and Han is quite an anxious/wary guy who isnt great at admitting his feelings and past mistakes which is why he looked like he was being kind to Rey in his own contained guilty way offering her a job and giving her a neat blaster as a sort of Im sorry I ditched you on Jakku for your own safety secret forgivness present. Rey being Luke,Palpatines or Obi Wans daughter seems far too obvious or ridiculous.
