I bought a laptop back in march and from day one of owning it I noticed it was running weird. Right when I turned it on I noticed that it was running a little loud. I wasn't to worried to much because it is a gaming laptop and they normally run loud. Recently after buying Forza Horizon 4 I noticed some performance abnormalities. I have an i7 8th generation paired with a 1060 3gb. I realistically should be able to run at high settings 70+ fps no problem, but it was struggling to hold 60 fps on medium settings (I had to turn on V-sync so the fps wouldn't drop to low.) I the decided to launch MSI Afterburner to see what the thermals were like. The CPU was jumping to 100 degrees celcius and the GPU gradually climbing to 90 degrees celcius, so I decided to send it in for repair. I then get an email saying that the repair will be delayed for a month. I then contact them to find out why. They say that they have to replace the motherboard and that It would take several weeks to get the part, so I was given some options, 1. wait for it to be replaced. 2. Get my money back. 3. Get a computer with the exact same specs. Since repairing the laptop would take to long, and the replacement laptop would take almost as long to arrive I decided to get my money back, and actually I'm getting more back. I paid $962 including tax and they are giving me $1000, so hey I'm getting back more money then I paid. Now begins the hunt for a new laptop.
