I have absolutely no doubt that the Knights of Ren are going to be in Episode IX. Their role however is still a mystery.
But...... what if the scene from TFA, the Knights in Rey's vision, was actually a look into the future? Something that supports this theory is the fact that she encountered Kylo in the Starkiller forest in the same vision, which still hadn't happened.
The rumors that Kylo returns to his TFA attire, including the helmet, is also a major support of the theory as Kylo has the the outfit in the vision. It's very unlikely that the scene is based when Kylo destroys the Jedi academy, because Kylo has his dark side clothes and helmet rather than his Jedi robes in TLJ (where he actually destroyed the temple).
In conclusion, I believe that this scene is going to be a part of Episode IX. Perhaps it is the final battle. Will Kylo and the Knights fight Rey or will Kylo turn on his allies (we saw him kill someone in the vision, perhaps he was a Knight)?
