Finally they were all herded back out and were able to retrieve their cars, which no doubt had been thoroughly searched in their absence, and carry on with their journey in search of Cade.

Chapter Ten Meet and Greet (part 1)
King hummed under his breath to himself as he shoved his arms into the sleeves of his jacket. It was very late, or early rather, but he couldn’t stand being cooped up any longer, five whole years of strain. Five years of fighting to stay hidden always. Now there was an inexplicable feeling in the air. Like a when one can feel a season coming, or a temperature drop. Like a hint at a taste of the future. It had been wearying to hide so long, it was opposite to his nature. But something inside him told him they would not have to be a secret much longer. He patted his pockets for his keys and then froze, turning slowly to the left. Wanda stood there with arms crossed over her bathrobe and slippers. “Where do you think you’re going?” He put his hands on his hips and tipped his head down, “Just out. I gotta walk, can’t stay in the house all the time. I get it that you and Carter are happy to live normal lives, that’s great, perfect for you guys. But it’s not me. I’m not ready at all for that.” She looked sympathetic and spoke softly, “Is this because of the accident? I understand, King I-” He just looked past her, “No. You don’t.” He swallowed hard and nodded once, “You’re a great lady, Carter is a lucky lucky man and I wish you all the best in the world. But don’t forget to live in every day you have.” Wanda watched as he turned away and opened the door. King looked back just before leaving, “I’ll come back, don’t be a mother and stay up, go rest.” The door clicked shut.
Elliea had assumed that it wouldn’t be so hard to find Katie since her family was fairly rich and prominent. And it was. It was getting in that was turning out to be difficult… Nobody went in, nobody went out. The groceries were dropped in the gate by drone. The drones were too small to conceal her so that left only two other options. Break in and hope that she would survive without knowing the defences beforehand or hide in the food and hope the drone didn’t break under the weight of a human. She pulled her heels up onto the bar of the stool she was sitting on and rubbed the bridge of her nose. The plate of food before her held no appeal while this problem was on her mind. She hadn’t drunk much or slept much either. She forgot to do things when she was on missions alone. Lost in thought Ellia stared at the wall blankly, wondering what the other where up to. If Damian was okay. She worried about him. Sometimes he thought too much and didn’t talk about it. She shook her head. She needed to decide what to do. How would she get in. Finally Elliea shovelled a few bites down and then paid and left the restaurant. She had come to a decision. Three hours later, it was getting dark and it was almost time to move out. Elliea was sitting the the patch of woods behind the Sisk grounds, leaning her back against a tree and picking apart twigs, leaves, and grass stems. She had decided to break in and it was pretty dangerous. The SIsks were rich and that meant anything under the sun could be protecting the house and grounds. Finally dusk was upon them and she rose, dusting of dry leaf crumble, dirt, and roots from her jeans and approaching the fence. It was a standard black wrought iron fence with decorative shapes in between it’s bars. She used those to climb, being careful not to step on any that might be loose or triggers or something. Finally she dropped lightly onto the grass on the inside and stayed there for a moment, waiting to see there was no trap. Slowly she stood and and glanced around the grounds, it was wide open with scattered shrubs and small trees. Just when she breathed a sigh of relief she heard the barking.
Figured I'd give some before I go so guess either savor them or read em quick lol whatever ye may choose.
It was not a pomeranian.
Chapter Ten Meet and Greet (part 3)
Terror gripped her as she leapt backwards towards the fence but in her panic she misjudged and slammed into it full on. Stunned she staggered to the side and through blurred vision she saw the two cane corsos, mastiff, german shepherd, and two ridgebacks come tearing around the corner. There were no trees tall enough or close enough to climb. She fell to the ground, curled into a ball covering her head and neck as best as she could. But in that moment she knew she was going to smash. The roar of the dogs rage and the baying grew louder as they pulled closer and then skidded to a stop around her. She screamed just as an extremely shrill whistle sounded. Elliea wondered in a daze if the whistle was her ears ringing or what? The next thing she knew someone was shaking her and she was being turned over. The world was black and green, red, blue, grey, white, then black again for a long time.
Con't...
(I know that was short but I'm putting the rest up tomorrow when it isn't 1 am. :3 )
Finally something replaced the black nothing: pain. A steady throb of pain pierced the absence of all and Elliea realized she was not smashed yet. She groaned loudly but couldn’t really hear anything. Someone touched her shoulder and she jerked in shock and pain before slowly opening her eyes. A strange man was peering down at her and she instinctively struck out at his throat and eyes regardless of her blurry vision. She tried to shout but just pathetic gibberish came out. The man gripped her wrists and stuck her with a needle. Elliea felt her arms slowly go numb. She immediately started crying because of the overwhelming feeling of helplessness and frustration. At last a familiar face leaned over her, it was Katie wearing a lovely infinity scarf and she looked sympathetic. She gently wiped Elliea’s face clean and then adjusted something on her head, finally Elliea could hear once again. “Hey just relax, you’re safe now. Here….let me help you sit up.” Katie pushed the pillows behind the injured girl up. Elliea swallowed painfully, “Ouch” Katie moved to pour a glass of water and helped her friend to drink. “It will feel better little by little. You might even be able to hobble around with help by tonight.” Elliea frowned, “Tonight?” Katie nodded, “Yes, our personal physician was tending to you during the night. I’m so sorry, When I saw you coming over the fence through the window I ran as fast as I could to call the dogs off. But…” She bit her lip and swept her eyes up and down Ellie before cringing. Elliea’s head wobbled from side to side as she propped herself up on an elbow. “Ow….what are my injuries?” Katie tipped her head, “Lots and lots of stitches. Take it easy okay.” Elliea gently felt around her head and neck, “Why did you have my ears covered?” Katie pointed at the back of her friend’s neck, “You wanna try and get up slowly? If you can sit at the table I’ll get you some food and meds.” Elliea grimaces as she slowly moved to perch on the edge of the bed, “Right, perfect.”
Good she's ok, less ok then I thought, but ok nonetheless. At least she can talk to Katie now.
Conner looked around the small seafood shop while Landon spoke to the kiwi in charge of the place. In this small place he could almost forget the state of their world. There were a few small pockets like this left in the world. He reached up and gently touched one of the many curiosities hanging from the roof. Windchimes jangled merrily and shells tapped against everything. Landon snapped his fingers to catch Conner’s attention so the latter joined his friend at the counter. The man behind it peered at them both in a manner that was neither particularly friendly or unfriendly. Landon nodded his head towards the counter man. “This fellow says that a guy by our description of Alex came in two weeks ago and got milk, batteries, lemons, and exactly seven pieces of bread….” Con blinked twice in rapid succession, “Seven.....ok paranoia is weeeeeird.” Landon shrugged, “Whatever we just need to find the man.” The guy behind the counter leaned over, “Ey he headed towards the center of the island. That’s all I know.” It was a dismissal, not an unkind one at all though but clearly a goodbye. The two agents set out once again in the general direction that the Alex had taken. This was proving to be difficult just as they had expected. The city was pretty much just as bad as everywhere else, crime was rampant all over the globe in the cities. The villages were less so ridden but usually extremely poor. Both of the boys were tense and on edge as they traversed the town streets. They paused on a street corner and Landon squinted into the sun, “You know...to be honest I’m not sure how to find Alex. They basically threw us out here with nothing to go on except random chance on the hope you will find him in passing among thousands of people.” Con glanced sideways at him, “We could call Cypher…” Landon just kind of glared at his friend. Con took out his phone and edged away, “I’ll just call over here then..”
Finally they were all herded back out and were able to retrieve their cars, which no doubt had been thoroughly searched in their absence, and carry on with their journey in search of Cade.
