Now where were we....OOOooh yes
Chapter Nine Fear... (part 2)
Damian just sat quietly for a moment, resigned to what was happening. Then he ever so slowly unbuckled his seatbelt and slid out of the car. The Whier siblings got out as well with confused demeanors. The two Under-Keepers prodded and herded the threesome towards the main bland buildings. Penny glanced back and saw another Under-Keeper slide behind the wheel and drive there car into a side lot but then the woman shoved her and they all were pushed into the overly lit lobby. It was a trapezoid shape with the desk directly in front of them and two hallways branching off, one left and one right. The man at the front desk glared at them with a bored look the heaved a massive dramatic sigh and slid a clipboard to the front of his desk and clicked a pen. “Names.” They each gave their names one by one and then the front desk man looked over their papers as well, pausing every few lines to glance up at them with an indistinguishable but clearly not positive look. After an aggravatingly long amount of time the man handed the papers back to their two Under-Keeper “friends” and clasped his hands, addressing the three agents. “Do you three know why you have been detained?” They all warily shook their heads. This elicited another heavy wind blast of a sigh before Desk Man explained to them that they were randomly selected to undergo a search. It was quite common and every two out of five groups are searched. Damian underwent one of the hardest will power struggles he’d ever had to conceal his relief. This was either a really clever trap or this was just a totally random, nerve racking coincidence. He was still silently praying feverishly that it was the later. Penny was directed down one hall and the boys down the other, fortunately the sighing deskman stayed at his post. They were herded into a room where several other males were already gathered and standing with very subdued manners. That was probably due to the two Keepers standing in corners of the room looking emotionless. Real ones not subordinates this time.
Damian went from slowly relaxing to absolutered alarm defcon one panicking. His stoic mask finally broke, a muscle in his jaw started jumping and he fought the urge to run. Rhett just looked mildly irritated that his day had been interrupted for this. They were lined up and the bigger of the Keepers started moving down the line. At each person he scrutinized their papers. AGAIN. And then patted them down and asked them a few questions. Damian was in a pitiful mental state now. He was mentally rehearsing all the psychological tactics he’d ever heard and especially the ones involving suppressing nervous sweating. The man reached Rhett, just before Damian. He triple read all the lines of the papers then patted Rhett down. Then the questioning. “Business crossing the border?” Rhett just shrugged, “I dunno, I didn’t plan the trip.” The Keeper continued. “Destination.” Rhett rolled his eyes, “I dunno that either.” The Keeper frowned, “They don’t tell you these things?” Rhett shrugged, “I don’t care enough to ask. Someone knows the destination, I don’t need to. In fact I didn’t even really want to come.” The Keeper was becoming more irritated. “You are being insolent. Answer my questions or be punished!” Rhett frowned and shook his head, “Technically I have been answering your questions. And honestly at that.” The Keeper’s whole body went rigid and he started to breath heavy. “Do you want to go to jail!” Rhett sighed and blinked tiredly, “No.” The law enforcer’s face was getting red and he spoke through gritted teeth, “Then you will stop being so difficult and tell me what I want clearly.” Rhett just gave a dead eyed stare and compliant shrug. The other Keeper tapped his wrist, urging speed on the process. Damian's turn came and the Keeper took his papers before staring at Damian's face. in the moment Damian felt something click mentally and everything calmed. It must have worked because the Keeper finally glanced back down at the papers saying, “Don't drive tired, you can be fined.” It turned out good in the end because the interrogator was rushed and irritated enough that he didn’t bother to ask more than one or two easy questions.
yyyyyYYYAAAAAAASSSSSSS!!! Bring it on, sister, I gotta know what happens next!! : D
and then I promptly didn't post it ;.; I'm so sorry for being so slow these days...I feel rotten about it.
Aw, honey, don't worry about it. It seems like you've had an off week, leaving the boards for a couple of days and getting busy with life stuff. Just give yourself some time to take a deep breath and rest. ^-^

Ooh, never mind, she posted!
It'd better be the latter, 'cause I don't see how they're gonna get out of this otherwise. O_O
