Wow, I'll admit I'm surprised at how young you were. I started watching it when I was 12. I think I can see where you're coming from. What would you consider to be more kid friendly and less dark? More like season one?
It actually started when I visited my cousin's house for my fourth birthday. They were into it and I watched all of season one with them. When I got back home, I strayed from it. Then one day years later when I was flipping through channels, I saw it was on, and I recognized it. It was "Blackout" from rebooted. I really got into it and also watched the next episode. After that I asked for sets for Christmas and that's how it started. Yeah, like season one. That one was a bit cartoony, but the story progressed very nicely to make most ages excited for the next episode.

Exactly, and Ninjago has kinda tought me how to except change a little more. Plus if you think about it, if a kid started watching Ninjago when it first came out when he or she was 7, by this time they would be about 15 years old!
