So this club is about being 13. What did I do when I was 13....*Thinks back 8 years ago*... oh, I just stayed home and built LEGO most of the time, although that wasn't such a good thing to be proud of at school at the time.
Also when I was 13, Ninjago started.
Oof. I remember you telling me about that. xP Good thing The LEGO Movie came around when it did and made LEGO cool again.
*regards you with awe*
Yeah. No one understood LEGO building at the time. Yep, I'm very happy The LEGO Movie came around.
Lol. I could tell you stories of what Ninjago felt like back in the day, back when the stories were cheesier yet still exciting.

I'm sure it felt really good to be considered an awesome Master Builder.
Like what? :3
Yes, it did feel pretty good, especially that some of my high school friends actually had enough interest in LEGO building to strike a conversation with me about it.
Let's see, I remember when there wasn't much character depth in the pilot episodes. Kai was the arrogant red ninja, Jay was the funny blue ninja, Cole was the tough black ninja, Zane was the serious white ninja, and Lloyd didn't exist yet, but I'd never think that 8 years later the theme would build more story onto these characters. I also remember the very beginning when Ninjago was just the back cover of a LEGO magazine and no website yet.
Ah, very cool. I haven't read any of Greg Farshtey's Ninjago books, though I'm sure they're good.
They are not bad!
Cool. Speaking of the Ninjago books, I'm looking for a Ninjago book that contains the two winning entries of the Write Like a Ninja Contest that was held the LMBs, but I don't remember the name of the book ever since the LMBs closed. Do you remember which book it was?

When they saw your builds, were they ever like; "Teach us your ways, O Grand Master Builder"?
Ah, yes. It's always funny looking back on the beginning and seeing the character dynamics then. They had no idea what character development was in store for them. Wow, that's right, it wasn't very big at the time. . . I don't think I ever even heard of it until we joined the old MBs. However, I do have this distant recollection of seeing an advertisement for the show on TV. . . as I recall, Kai was scrubbing the toilet.

No, sorry! I never really got into Ninjago stories until now. @princess Wolf has a realllllyyy good story I have got into.

Not really. They weren't interested in how to build LEGO creations, but they were interested in what LEGO building is as a hobby and an art besides being a kid's toy.
Yep. I think one of my favorite parts when I watched the pilots back then was when Jay was interested in Nya for the first time. Ah, very interesting. I don't think I've seen that advertisement of Kai scrubbing the toilet, but that's pretty funny.
