"Hello, Hanna."
The first words I heard as I set my first glance on the world, and they would be the most treasured.
A soft hand gently lifted my back and raised it so I was sitting up. "Welcome to the world."
He was scrawny, most likely in his mid-50s, with large, crooked glasses and the nicest smile ever. I was innocent, clueless, but I said what I knew. "Father."
"That's right, I'm your father." He laughed and gave me a hug. I was comfused at first, but I picked up on it quickly. "Oh, I have so much to teach you!"
It was night, so strangely enough, the first thing I ended up doing was sleeping. It was a calm, silent time, and there were no subconscious visions involved. Soon enough, I woke up from this state. I arose, lifting my body off the bed I was born on. I found no balance, however, and fell to the ground.
My father took notice of my helpless state and, chuckling, walked over to me and pulled me back up. I looked at him. "Father?"
Father nodded. "I've got you." He looked into the mirror leaning against the wall. I looked with him. "Just put one foot in front of the other foot."
I looked down at my feet, trying to grasp what he said, and then I gingerly lifted my left foot, moved it in front of my right foot, and put it down, somewhat clumsily. Automatically, my body moved forward.
"Good, good," Father told me. "Now again."
This time, my right foot went in front of my left foot. I kept going. It took me a bit to realize I was walking.
"Yes, you're doing amazing!" Father smiled softly. "I'm so proud of you."
"You are...proud...of me," I repeated quietly.
"Yes, yes I am!" He grinned in sheer Joy.
"Ehm...you are," I muttered.
"I have to show you someone," Father said a bit later. He looked to the side, and I looked too. There was a young man in the same white clothes I wore, tall and pale, with light hair and blue eyes. His expression looked blank; he seemed to be reading a book.
"This is Zane, your brother," he told me, placing a hand on the boy with a small smile.
"Zane...?" I tilted my head.
"Yes, I am your brother," the man told me with a soft smile.
"Brother..."
