"You really...?" The former princess seemed at a loss for words.
I nodded. "Yeah. I saw what you did out there... it's been on my mind a lot." I rubbed my hands together nervously.
"Has it?" Rumi asked. "Last I checked I was performing an Oniic ritual to resurrect your evil dad and nearly drowning you in the process while simultaneously smashing your heart to pieces and probably taking the lives of innocent citizens. I don't think it can get any more unforgivable."
"But I know you've changed since then," I told her. "And...I know that look you gave me when you fell like that. You..."
"I was scared," Rumi interrupted. "My emotions got the best of me."
"You wanted me to see you'd changed," I corrected.
Rumi stared at me, solemnly. "That look...do you really still love me?"
"Of course," I replied. "It's just...well, it's complicated."
I watched them talk one day. It seemed Harumi had been bitter and vengeful before she had come back, and now she seemed to be very apologetic and wanted to make up for what she had done. Jay stepped back and sat on a chair. Cole crossed his arms as he still contemplated whether to trust her.
As I hadn't known this girl in the past, my only feeling was that of curiosity. Who was this? Why was she here? How had she survived whatever had happened?
"Well, I'll see you," Lloyd concluded as he smiled and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"You too," Harumi replied a bit nervously. "Um...bye."
Lloyd chuckled and watched her leave and continue her pursuit of a home.
"I thought she was staying with us?" I told him, raising an eyebrow.
"She told me she was thankful for the offer, but she would rather not stay in a place where there would be so much tension," Lloyd replied, "since she used to be our enemy and all."
"Perhaps she could rebuild the palace," I replied, "since she mentioned making alterations to it. Maybe the companions she mentioned could stay with her could keep her company."
"Funny how she just told me that," Lloyd chuckled.
I laughed a bit as well. "Really? How silly of me."
"I thought you didn't hear us," Lloyd added.
"I got bits and pieces I guess." I shrugged.
"You're a Nindroid," Lloyd pressed on. "I wouldn't be surprised if you heard it all."
"Well, maybe I was curious about her. Maybe I, well..."
"Were you jealous?"
"Jealous? Of what?"
"Us. Did you have a crush on me?"
"No, it's not like that. When I just meet someone, I tend to...study them. I want to hear as much as I can about them," I explained. "I'm one who cares a bit more about detail."
"Oh," Lloyd replied. "I...guess that's a logical explanation." He cleared his throat. "Let's wrap this up before Jay gets any more inpatient."
As if on cue, Jay pouted and crossed his arms. "It's my turn to cook, isn't it, Lloyd?"
Hey, guess what? First I have a bunch of chapters to edit and post, but I'll let your character into my story! Just post a clear enough bio and you may be surprised!
