"He led you to a cave entrance near the fortress? Ah, the griffon man's passage. And there was a dragon? Yes, you should speak with the duchess. Just one moment." He leads Sylvester to the audience chamber and enters, motioning for Sylvester to stay behind.
He uses this time to think about how it would have been fun to dance for her anyway, and fantasizes about her no doubt attractive appearance
The soldier returns. "She will speak with you. He leads Sylvester into the chamber, a large open room with a table in the center. A somber older woman dressed all in black sits there next to a suave man wearing fine black and white clothing with the image of a unicorn's head. A third chair is placed off to the side, draped in dark blue cloth.

DANGIT Sylvester thinks to himself, before approaching and greeting the Duchess
"Greetings, your majesty -- after meeting a rather rude, ragged old man who's sense of humour was too dead to even accept one of my delicious, hand-made crepes, I was accidentally led into the Griffon Man's Passage, and met a vicious wyrm inside. For the purposes of dungeon-delving, I wish to request some number of soldiers with which I may slay the wyrm and any other monsters inside. No doubt it would be good training for them, and a mysterious man going inside such a dank place seldom bodes well for nearby common folk anyways. Indeed, I suspect the man to be some sort of dark lord or megalomaniacal tyrant in the making. What say you? I can repay thee with fabulous entertainment and perhaps even some plunder if it pleases the duchess!"
Everyone hears the sound of a tolling bell. They look around at one another, unsure what is going to happen next. A couple minutes pass and they hear footsteps coming from the other side of the barrier. Soon, a strange-looking man comes into view. His skin is inky black and heavily wrinkled. A few strands of pale, almost translucent hair drift down from the back of his scalp beneath his conical golden hat. He is wearing crimson robes and carrying a golden staff topped with two circular rings. A pair of pointed elven ears frame his face. Looking out at the group assembled beyond the barrier, he reaches out a hand a presses it against the wall. The barrier fades.
"Welcome, heroes. To have reached my home, you must be either very skilled or very luck. Or perhaps a very realistic figment of my imagination." He pauses for a moment in thought. "No, I think not. Regardless, as you know, the world is on the brink of destruction. Velasco's last prophecy has led you here, to find the singular item that can be used to save it." The man slams his staff against the floor, and two gouts of flame erupt from the sides. "Please, enter."
OOC: To clarify, none of you have any idea what he's talking about or who Velasco is. Here is what the man looks like, by the way:

"As it happens, we do already have people investigating the tunnels, including our own Lady Alinor. But what you say is troubling; I don't believe they are prepared to face all the dangers you have described. You mentioned the griffon man; do you know -- what was his name -- yes, Goatie?"

Jaw agape, Azril stares at him. "Who are you?"
"Ah, my apologies. Elowyn must not have told of me. My name is Cinead, the Immortal." He now steps aside to give them a wider point of entry. "I promise, you have nothing to fear from me so long as you make no attempts at violence in my home. Come in, please, so we may discuss what you must do."
Alinor exchanges a glance with Visnja, and the two of them slowly step forward. Ninoslava and Melisende accompany them, as does Stig, after a moment. What will Azril, Goatie, and Jednook do?

"If I met Goatie, I have forgotten who he is!"
"Well, in any case, we should send people to warn the others, and help them if necessary. I will have a group assembled for you in short order. You may go now, ah, what was your name again?"

OOC: I'm going to assume Goatie and Jednook do as well.
IC: Cinead leads them into his home. As they round the corner, they a very cozy-looking room containing a stove, a small table with two chairs, and bookshelves lining the walls. A few other doorways seem to lead to other rooms. "Now," says Cinead, "You know my name. What are yours?"

He goes back to face the wyrm with dudes, and buffs them with a fabulous dance
Within about an hour, Sylvester is joined in the hallway by five soldiers. They lead him into another part of the castle, past a doorway guarded by another pair of soldiers, and into a room with a tunnel leading downward below the fortress.

"I am Azril, Archer-Knight of the Lion Kingdom."
The rest of the group introduces themselves as well. When they are finished, Cinead looks across all of them. He walks over to one of the bookshelves, pulls out a book, and begins flipping through pages, muttering to himself as he does so. After about a minute or so of this, he closes the book and sets it down. "Well, this is extremely bad. You answered the riddle about Valithor Icebeard, yes?" At this, Alinor nods. "But none of you have heard any prophecies, have you? You just happened to make your way here."
