Since the ritual is mostly complete, he can't change its focus too much, but he does nudge it a little.
OOC: Already performing*
Ahem.
IC: He continues communing with the forest until he learns the Pard's ways
OOC: Don't worry. This is the better outcome.
IC: The spell completes, and Votok can feel it succeed as knowledge floods his mind. He knows how to spot the hiding place of a pard. He knows that its favorite prey are alligators and snakes. He knows that its magical abilities allow it to inhale swamp gas and exhale noxious fumes that it can turn against any creature it is fighting.

"....We're going to need gas masks-"
"It's probably a good idea to cover our mouths and noses when we approach."
Over what remains of the morning, they lay out a plan. Kalena will hunt down an alligator or snake to use as bait. When Votok find a pard, Kalena will lay the trap and Votok will cast a spell to lure the pard to it and make it drowsy. Siku will sneak up and bind its jaw shut so it can't use its fumes. Then the three of them will tie it down and secure it. Afterwards, Kalena will leave to go to the summit while Votok and Siku work on taming the creature.

OOC: That sound good to you?
Votok executes his part of the plan as it was described.
"Sleep creature.... sleeeeeep!!!!" he says in an almost cruel, malicious tone.

OOC: Hold on there. You haven't actually done any of this yet. Start by going east to the swamps to find a pard.

He...
finds a pard
Spending the rest of the day traveling east and searching through the swamps, Votok is eventually able to find a mud pit that he can recognize as a pard's home. The creature's back just barely peeks up from the mud, only really visible because he knows what to look for. Siku stays with him, moving so carefully and so silently that Votok almost forgets he's there.
As the sun is just beginning to set, Kalena joins them. In a whisper, she says, "I have the bait. Just let me know where to set the trap."

What kind of trap is it?
"I'll set up a snare so we can hold the beast temporarily without harming it too much."
.Votok"Put it somewhere it is likely to walk to-" Votok whispered, pointing to just such a spot.
Kalena sets the trap, then goes to hide and wait.
Votok began to sinisterly weave his magicks, conjuring a foul spell that would beguile the Pard into walking blindly into the trap, all the while it starts to slowly drift to sleep.
Once it was within melee range, the Minotaur stepped on its jaw with his hoof. Keeping it shut until it could be bound with other means.

"Sleep creature... sleep. You are mine."
As Votok draws close, the pard lunges at him lazily, opening its jaws to breath its fumes. But before it can, Siku is there, dropping from the trees and deftly binding its jaws. It struggles for a few minutes, the three of them holding it in place, before slowly drifting off to sleep.

By this point, the sun has set, and they are forced to quickly make camp around where they have tied down the pard.
