"....The <insert name of largest apex predator in the Forest>" OnO
OOC: Let's see, I'm imagining some sort of large cat, but I think it should be a little more interesting than that. I'll take a look at some legendary creatures . . .. Okay, here's something. It will be a large, spotted panther that hides in mud and can breath noxious fumes. They're called pards and they live a little further north of the Forest Band's fortress, about two or three days' travel.
We're going to move slowly with this, since I want everything to stay on the same timeline. I'm also going to have it intersect with another plot element, which should be interesting.

IC: Kalena goes to inform Harfor of their trip.
"HUNT-ING! HUNT-ING!!" Votok chants
Kalena returns with Siku following close behind. "He's coming with," she says, nodding to the white-haired man.
OOC: That's where I'll leave it for now, unless you want to interact with Kalena and Siku. I'll pick it back up when something interesting happens.
OOC: Emarcee Wow, I got really mixed up about the traveling rules here. The whole plan I had for how this ties in to the rest of the plot is no longer going to work, so we'll just move this along on the same timeline and get it done sooner than I was planning.
IC: As the light fades in the sky, Kalena, Siku, and Votok begin to set up camp for the night. "We should be able to reach Pard territory sometime tomorrow," Kalena comments.
Siku grins. "Then all that's left is the actual hunting."

"Hunting... yes..."
Votok seemed to pause, and think, unusually sober for his usual, brash attitude.
"...."
"....Do you know what would be harder than slaying this beast...?"

Kalena looks at him curiously. "I can think of several things, few of them wise. What did you have in mind?"
"Such a beast would be a powerful and surprising trump card should the coming negotiations go south-"
Siku grins. "We could certainly try. Any suggestions for how we'd actually go about doing that?"
"That depends on the beast's behaviors and habits. If we don't have any prior knowledge, we should track and study it... and then attempt to offer it its preferred food... laced with a scentless sedative -- after getting the creature to sleep, we can tie it down with reinforced restraints, and work to make it docile towards one of us-"

"I know a little bit. The Kaspik Wardens encountered them a few times, when they got out of hand. I can help you capture it, but I won't be able to stay out here too long; I have to get back to help Harfor and Gidie at the summit."
"So," says Siku, "Kalena can help capture it before she returns, and then Votok and I will stay and see if we can tame it."

"Sounds like a plan-" Votok said, Adjusting his gauntlets and beginning to mix together his supposed sedative in a vial he brought.
Depending on whether or not it can be assumed a survivalist such as him has ingredients on him, it is probably also possible for him to create the sedative magically.

OOC: They took some time to prepare supplies before they left, so I think it's reasonable to assume Votok would have brought that with him.
IC: Kalena spends the evening trying to recall as much as she can about the pard. Siku makes dinner.
OOC: And we'll probably leave it there until the RP reaches the next day.
