The soldier scratches his chin. "Sounds familiar. Look, maybe you can help us out here. The Dragon Rider has turned on the castle and is breaking out a prisoner. You could --"
"Liar!" shouts the guard next to him, "Lord Ackar was unlawfully imprisoned! Xavic is just helping right that wrong."
The first guard shouts back. "Lord Ackar attempted to overthrow Lord Amvion! There's nothing unlawful about it!"
"Last I checked, Ackar and Amvion were equals! Just because Lord Amvion's running the castle doesn't make him king all of a sudden!"
The hands of both soldiers begin to drift to their weapons. Both appear to have forgotten about Ariel.
OOC: How's that for exposition?
Ariel clenches the reins in his hands. "Is this what the Dragon Kingdom has come to?! What a disgrace!" His black horse tosses his wildly as he feels the anger of his master through the reins.
OOC: Very good.
Now remembering Ariel's presence, the first soldier turns back to him. "Listen, kid, what I was trying to say earlier was someone needs to get a message to Lord Amvion. Since you're already outside the gates and you've got a horse and all, you can get there faster than anyone. Go to the place where the three kingdoms meet and tell him what's going on."

Ariel considers this for a moment, then he replies. "Very well. I'll be your massager, then this matter can be settled."

"Thanks, lad. Get to it, then!" The other soldier scowls but says nothing.
Above them, the dragon, now with both passengers fully aboard, takes flight.
Overhead, the dragon is following a similar path, but it is angled more to the north and it isn't long before it passes out of Ariel's sight.
Ariel and his horse continue towards their destination.
Before long, he sees several figures heading down the road in the opposite direction, towards the castle. They are flying the flag of the Dragon Knights.

He calls out to them. "Is Lord Amvion among you? I have a message for him."

A tall, thin man with smooth black hair and piercing gray eyes steps forward, his long black robes shifting slightly in the wind. "I am he. What word do you bring, young man?"

"The Dragon Rider has helped Lord Ackar escape the prison. The guards who sent me seemed divided over whether this was right or wrong." Ariel replies.

The young soldier next to Lord Amvion speaks up. "My lord, if that is true, it may be dangerous for you to come there. I will ride forward and take care of this trouble."
"Very well. Don't fail me, Captain."
The captain heads off, taking about half the other soldiers with him.
With that Lord Amvion turns to Ariel. "Now, young man, why don't you tell me how you came to be here? I recognize your uniform, but the style is quite old. Where did you get it?"

"I inherited it from my father. His name was Marius, and he was a knight of the Dragon Kingdom. He trained me himself when I was younger. But he was killed by a rogue for reasons I do not know. I searched for answers about the rogue when I was old enough to, but found no trace of him. So I have given up on that and now my only goal is to become a knight of the Dragon Kingdom like my father was; and if possible play a role in the improvement of the kingdom's future and return it to its former glory. Also, my name is Ariel." He replies respectfully.

"I'm sorry to hear about your father. I only wish I had known him; he must have been a brave man. Welcome to the Dragon Kingdom, Ariel. We are glad to have you. Now, why don't you tell me everything you saw at the castle?"

Lord Amvion ponders this for a while. "Thank you for informing me. Come, let's move forward. I'd like to see this for myself."
