Hello, one and all, and welcome to the official first discussion portion of the first meeting of the Disney Movie Club!
Club members:
Gnuehchcaz LordTigress RLROCKS18 RomeNZ bun02
For our first movie assignment, we all watched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Right? Right. We good? Right Now, it's time to sit back, have some popcorn and gummy bears (because, I mean, come on -- they're gummy bears) and discuss the movie, in a very scientific and analyzing kind of way.
Pfffft I hope you didn't take that seriously how long have you known me
Here's some questions for you to answer, to get the discussion going.
1. Favorite scene? 2. Favorite song? 3. Favorite character? 4. Most magical moment? 5. The dwarf you think you're most like?
And my answers, to start us off...
1. The spontaneous dance/karaoke party after dinner, with inclusion of "The Silly Song." This entire scene just makes me laugh; it reminds me of the first times I ever watched Snow White (it was always one of my staple Disney movies ), and the whole thing has such a Disney charm to it that I really love.
2. "Whistle While You Work." I love this song.
3. I think it's a tie between Doc and Dopey.
4. The ending scene, where Snow White is woken up and everything beyond that. It has an overwhelming feel of nostalgic classic Disney, which obviously also makes it very magical.
5. I added this question in specially for this particular discussion, if you couldn't tell. I'd like to say Dopey, but I talk way too much to be him. XD I would definitely have to say Happy, we're very much alike.
Well, there we go! You all are welcome to add any questions or thoughts you'd like; just get the discussion started! Awesome! Here are my answers: 1. I think my favorite scene, agreeing with Rome, was the cleaning up scene which was pretty satisfying to watch and very detailed as well. There was also a lot of classic comedy in that scene as well with all the animal's different behaviors as well. 2. Heigh HOOOOOOOOO!!! It's still a song I laugh at to this day, and it's really catchy. My head will always be bopping up and down for that song. 4. I think everyone else got all the good magical parts, so I'll add the part when Snow White talks or sings to animals and they respond as if they actually understand what she's talking about or sing a part of her song. I've tried talking to animals in real life and they don't respond like that, although some birds did echo my violin playing. 3/5. My favorite character is also the character I'm most like, which would be Dopey. He has a very child-like and innocent mind just like I do, and I think that's his most unique quality about being Dopey that the other dwarves don't have.

Remember that part when the Evil Queen transformed into the hag and she was leaving the dungeon when she passed by this cell where a human skeleton lay sprawled out with one hand outstretched toward a musty jug that must have once held water and she was all like "Have a drink!" and kicked the jug into the skeleton's face and sent the bones spinning and then she just walked away like the punk she is?
Who was that skeleton?

Who was that skeleton? I have a feeling that skeleton belonged to the last princess who held the title of "Fairest of them all".

10/10 savage Evil Queen. Oh, gosh, yeah. . . xD I think this movie freaked out my younger sister a little. She's not used to Disney being that. . . dark.

. . . The gold-weaver girl in Rumpelstiltskin?

Neither the fairest nor the evilest of them all. Sad.
Yeah, she's really grown up with the movies like Cinderella, Moana, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, etc. Nowadays the Disney movie villains are a little more charming or humorous than downright creepy.

Interesting theory. Perhaps the Evil Queen had already taken the top "Fairest of them all" ladies above her as victims before they were made into movies. I guess it could be the gold-weaver girl. Perhaps so -- though, if this old lady's competing herself against hot sixteen year-old girls with waists the size of kiwis, she really doesn't stand a chance and she's going to be mad anyway. She did become a princess -- or queen, really, if I recall the tale correctly, so to me it counts. Yeah, the age difference in this contest is quite large. Perhaps the Evil Queen is using her magic to make herself look younger, which could be cheating in the Mirror's judgement of "Fairest of them all". Right. That skeleton could be her then.
