Yeah. I found this part particularly hilarious. Hehe. I've never grown a full beard before, but either way facial hair is itchy.
I'm very glad. Thank you. I can only imagine. I've tried to grow my own facial hair, but for some reason, it's never worked for me.
You're welcome. Interesting. You probably wouldn't want facial hair anyway. As well as being itchy, it will probably get in the way of trying to eat as well.

Ew. xD Yeah, well, I'd like to at least say I've given it a shot.

"Of course you'd steal the ingredients for poisoned cookies." Joy replies.
Eventually the waiter brought them their food, two plates of lobster raviolis. Joy was just about to dig into the dish when Temptation said "Well, enjoy this one meal now. When you wear a beard, it gets more difficult to eat as it gets in the way." Joy let out a small sigh before eating the lobster ravioli.
Some time had passed and they finished and paid for their meal. They now had to prepare their disguises, but one question was on their mind...
"Where do you find fake beards in a place like this?" Joy asked as they just left the restaurant. "I don't know." Temptation replied. "Maybe we can our own beards out of the scrap trimmings from the local barbershop or something."
"That's disgusting." Joy retorted. "But isn't that how they make fake beards anyways?" Temptation asked
"At least those are created by professionals to be made clean and look realistic. Between the two of us, I don't think we can make a good looking beard from scraps." "You're right."
"Let's think about this." Joy said. "If someone had a purpose of wearing a fake beard, why would they want to wear one?" "I don't know, to look like someone else?" Temptation thought, then an idea came to mind. "The theater! Why don't we try the theater? The actors got to have some beards lying around."
"Brilliant idea!" Joy praised. "Let's go to the theater and borrow some beards." "Do you think they'll let us borrow beards? It's kind of an awkward question to ask." Temptation asked.
"Let's just hope they don't need it for their current show." Joy replied.
Joy and Temptation found the theater within the large town. It was a big round building, with two small entrances on each side, a ticket booth in the middle, and barely any windows on the outside besides the windows in the ticket booth. The outside was covered in large posters advertising a few plays that were on today's queue. The theater was almost done with its current showing, and there were some people waiting outside for the next showing. They talked among themselves and didn't notice Joy and Temptation walking toward the theater.

Ooh, new location. This'll be interesting.
Yep. I can't wait to see what you'll make them do in the theater.
As they near the entrance, Temptation feels--ironically--tempted to cast his hood up, but he knows the gesture would only look strange and draw unwanted attention to himself and Joy. He refuses to react to the occasional stares people gave him when they lay eyes on the scar running down his face and his one cloudy eye. Joy, too preoccupied with the task of getting inside, doesn't take notice of her friend's discomfort. The two of them ease away from the small crowd at a murmur from Temptation and head toward one of the two side entrances. Because the theater sat in the middle of town, there was no chance nobody would see them walking inside. Thus, Temptation/Luke and Joy had to simply hope that acting as if they belonged and knew what they were doing would be enough to allay any suspicions witnesses may conjure. With a small nod from Joy, they amble over to the small door set at the side of the building, smile disarmingly at nothing for the sake of anyone watching, and Temptation casually pulls on the handle. Fortunately, it is unlocked, and they enter without trouble. They find themselves in a broad hallway of wood floors and cobblestone walls, marked only with small areas of mold up at the ceiling and cracked shards of stone that had fallen from the walls. Apparently, this theater was not the most tidiest. "What now?" Temptation murmurs as he gazes warily up and down the hall. "Let's try to get backstage," Joy suggests. She touches the hilt of her shortsword gently. "That's where most of the costumes typically are, just before a show starts. We can blend in with the actors and stagehands." "What, like this? With our weapons?" He gestures to his bow and quiver strapped over his back and her sword dangling at her side. "We could be taken for actors. We kind of look cool, anyway." She grins good-naturedly at him. "It'll be all right. We'll wing it." He frowns skeptically, but she was already venturing down the hall. Surprising a sigh, he follows, and they venture deeper into the building.

They do look cool, in my head at least. I love this story!

Maybe a cover should be created for this story sometime.
"I could just disguise myself as one of the women warriors, right?" Joy asks. Temptation shakes his head. "Lord Fear doesn't typically recruit women warriors. The only girl in his organization is Envy." Joy stiffens in her seat, and looks up at him with wide eyes. "One of the people who took my parents." Temptation nods and swallows uncomfortably. "Envy and Greed--they're brother and sister. They're like Fear's righthand men-- well, you know, man and woman. You see, ah," He winces, making the scar on his face twitch. "They're Fear's son and daughter. . . they're my cousins." Joy sits there in stunned silence for a few moments, taking in this new information. Then she murmurs somberly. "Your family has serious issues." "Tell me about it," He mutters, tracing his scar. They sit in awkward silence for a minute. Joy takes a sip of water, which is when Temptation decides to say, "So, you'll be disguised as a man." Joy gasps and chokes on her water. She slaps it down on the table and sputters, coughing frantically. When she's caught her breath and wiped most of the water off her face with her sleeve, she exclaims, "Whoa, whoa, whoa--like, I'm going to have to wear a beard??" "How else would we do it? Show your face, and they'll know immediately you're not one of them," He replies. "What's wrong with my face?" "Nothing! It's just that-- well, you're a pretty girl." He blushes and coughs awkwardly. "I mean--the group is small enough that they'd be able to tell right off that you're not one of them, even if you try to disguise yourself as a boy. A beard will be perfect: better than a bandit's mask." She sighs, resigned to her fate. "Fine. . . I'll wear a beard. I just hope it's not itchy." "Oh, all beards are itchy. Both the fake and the real ones." "Lovely." She sighs. "So. . . how do you think we'll get inside?" "Should be simple enough." He shrugs. "As long as you're wearing the uniform and you know the secret hand signal, the guards will let you in through the gate. We can go in pretending to be delivering stolen goods." "What kind of goods do they steal?" She asks. "Ingredients for the poisoned cookies."
Beards are 100% worth the pain. I only wish I could grow a real one.
