Mrs. Love burst out, "Joy! My baby girl!" and yanked her into a tight hug. She then held her daughter at arm's length and stared at her attire. "What--?" Joy forced a tired grin. "You just missed my wedding, Mother." Temptation couldn't help but gawk at the crowd of former slaves and knights surrounding them on the hilltop. "How--? How did you?" A tall knight, wearing the emblem of the King's Guard upon his red, blue, and gold tunic over his armor, urged his horse forward a step. "These people alerted us to the situation at hand. Things are far more dire than we could have guessed," he said grimly. "That's for sure," Temptation muttered. "Look, you've got to watch out. That creature isn't just dangerous, he's my uncle--!" Several tentacles crept up over the crest of the hill and latched onto boulders. A couple came loose and went flying, but those set in the ground held firm, and the long, slimy limbs clung to them. A deep, unearthly growl rumbled through the air, beyond the sight of the spectators. "Archers!" the lead knight cried. Red-cloaked horseback figures behind him all simultaneously rose longbows up; gloved hands snatched arrows from quivers and knocked them. "Ready. . . !" the knight started. A panicked cry interrupted him, one that came from behind the hill. Another one of the tentacles rose up like a great pale snake--one that had Dr. Farthingworth wrapped tight in its suffocating embrace. "Help me!" he wailed as he was swung this way and that through the sky. Temptation's still-burning lungs heaved an exasperated sigh. "You have got to be kidding me!" Joy's gaze scanned the hill. "If Fear drops him, he'll be smashed to pieces on the rocks!" She turned to the knights. "Don't shoot it!" "We have to risk it, if we're going to save everyone else!" the knight retorted. The crowd of once-eager volunteers for the battle suddenly drew back, staring at the monster. Nervous murmurs rose, even from the knights and archers. Another tentacle latched onto a rock. Fear was pulling himself up onto the hilltop. "We can't wait! I'll go get Marty!" Temptation snapped. He started running. "Everyone else, take this thing down!"

Awesome part, Tigress! Oh no, he has Marty! The battle has begun!

The knight who led the archers thought of an idea. "Aim for the base of the tentacle!" In unison, the archers pointed at the base of the tentacle where it connects to the rest of the body.
The knight signaled by raising his sword high and swung down, and all of the archers released their arrows. Temptation was already running down to where Dr. Farthingworth was and saw the arrows fly above him and land at the base of the tentacle. They didn't pierce the skin, but they still hit very hard and the tentacle loosened its grip on Dr. Farthingworth.
Dr. Farthingworth squealed as he fell from as high as a building. Temptation ran as fast as he could trying to make it to Dr. Farthingworth's landing point before he could crash to the ground. Temptation's heart raced extremely quickly, knowing that someone's life was at stake.
Temptation held his arms out to catch Dr. Farthingworth, and just in time he caught him, but with Dr. Farthingworth weight suddenly being pushed on Temptation's arms, he fell forward and bruised his arms on the rocks. Luckily he wasn't hurt too bad, but just a few scrapes.
"Good catch, Temptation." Dr. Farthingworth said as he got up and brushed his arms of the dirt. "You're welcome." Temptation said as he let out a sigh of relief now knowing that Dr. Farthingworth is alright.
Lord Fear let out a screech as the rest of his body seemed to stare down at Temptation and Dr. Farthingworth. Temptation and Dr. Farthingworth looked at each other and booked it. Temptation had to climb up a bit of the hill again, but luckily this time the archers had let down a rope to make it easier to climb up.
A tentacle had almost reached both of them, but the archers continued to fire to protect them.
They both got up on the hill, and Temptation rejoined with Joy, but they both looked at Lord Fear wondering what to do. All of a sudden behind them a whole line of catapults and carts of ammunition rolled in.
"Finally, time to bring out the big bows." Joy said. "Umm, I wouldn't really describe them as bows." Temptation replied. "Maybe there will be a better term to describe them in the future." She replied.
Finally another part! Sorry for the long wait. For the past week, I was putting school first since it was my last week with exams and projects, but I think I finished strong and now I got the time to write another part!
