Temptation ignored Dr. Farthingworth. Instead he turned away from the fuse and dashed into the trees. The night was pitch-black, but that didn't stop him. He'd worked often enough in the dark before to race headlong through the forest, swift as a shadow. He snapped limbs from pines as he went and stumbled once or twice, but soon enough he broke the line of trees and found himself at the clearing where the old chapel sat. The only light illuminating the small building and the coaches and horses parked nearby came from the moon and from torches within the chapel. He could see figures moving around inside. A few more stood guard by the front doors, black cloaks blending them in with the shadows. Temptation hesitated a moment, then summoned another burst of energy to race to the front doors. The guardsmen at the front grabbed their swords, then hesitated uncertainly when they recognized the uniform cloak the figure running toward them was wearing. One of them started, "Oi, what's going--?" "It's an emergency! Stand aside, or Lord Fear'll be mad!" Temptation gasped. The startled guards did nothing as the young man shoved himself past them and burst through the doors. He stumbled into the brightly-lit chapel just as the priest was saying, ". . . And if anyone can show just cause why this couple cannot lawfully be joined together in matrimony, let them speak now or forever hold their peace." "FREEZE, TURKEYS!" Temptation blurted without thinking. Every single person in the chapel whirled around and stared at Temptation in astonishment. A slender figure clothed in shimmering white--Joy, he realized with a start--in particular looked amazed and thrilled by his arrival. He wondered if those were tears he saw glittering in her eyes, or just some kind of shiny makeup. There was a long, awkward silence. Greed and Fear were glaring at him win silent shock and rage. Finally Envy broke the silence with her slow, monotone voice. "'Freeze, turkeys'? That's the best you've got?" She sighed. "'I object, your honor' would have been a better line."

Awesome part! Love the little LEGO Movie reference of Freeze Turkeys! I can't wait to write the next part.

Agreed. Maybe when it's done we could submit it to whoever runs the Newberry award.
We'd get the award, for sure.
Indeed. An original piece truly based on one part imagination, another part randomness, and another part trust in the other co-writer. I don't think other Newberry award winners have something like that before.

Most definitely not. xD
Indeed. It may not be the most well thought out story, but part of the art and the excitement of it is seeing what the other co-writer does.
