"YES!" Greed shouted. "It worked!" "Oh Greed, let's get married and live together!" Joy said in a insanely joyful mood.
"Yes, and we will rule the world!" Greed replied.
The two stared at each other intensely and they brought their heads closer together, when suddenly the exit door opened, and right outside was Lord Fear with the key in hand that he unlocked the door with.
"Please tell me there has been progress." He commanded. "Oh yes, mighty Lord Fear. I can't wait to marry your lovely son. He's such a dear." She replied hugging Greed tightly.
"Well, that worked better than I expected." Lord Fear replied. "Come along you two lovebirds, we have a wedding to plan!" "Yay!" Joy said, but internally she was cringing so much, and she couldn't wait to stop acting. * Temptation saw Joy's hand holding Greed's hand, and leaning her head on his shoulder, and this made Temptation very cross. *
"Where are you taking me?" Dr. Farthingworth asked. "To see Joy herself when she's alone. If she's in love, you better have a good explanation for it." Temptation said.
"Me? Lying? No... I wouldn't do that to a future daughter-in-law." Lord Fear said as he pointed to himself. "If I was lying to you I would have named myself Lord Deception. Well, I could have given myself that name, but 'Lord Fear' has a nice ring to it that makes my name so memorable. Sorry, I digress. "
Lord Fear continued, "What I am saying, is that there won't be any harm done when you marry my son. Imagine this, your parents and Temptation will be fine, and you get to live happily with my son, a man who can give you anything you so desire."
Joy retorted, "There is nothing I can desire from Greed, because Greed cannot provide the things I desire. Let me clear one more time, Lord Fear. I desire to live in a kingdom where people aren't controlled by fear, a kingdom where everyone is cared for and loved. Everything you and your organization is doing is the exact opposite of what I want, so you can tell your son to pack his greedy filth and get out."
Lord Fear was shocked by the response. "Well, I must say, I truly do understand your request and that you don't want to marry my son. Fine. Let me tell you something I once told Temptation. He's the spirit of desire, but when he's here his desires don't mean anything, and so won't yours."
Lord Fear walked to the door and opened it, and shouted at the top of his lungs, "ALCHEMIST!"
Shortly afterward, a flustered alchemist came over and asked with frustration, "What is it, my lord?"
Lord Fear responded, "I will get you another hammer to use, but on one request. Make me a potion that will make Joy love my son whether she likes it or not." He turned to Joy, "Joy, if I can't ask you to marry him, I will make you. See you very soon." He said as he shut the doors and locked them.
Joy heard all of this from inside the room and her heart sank. She had thought of fighting back, but she didn't have any hope that she would survive. All she could do was stand in the room and shed some tears at her hopelessness.

Meanwhile, Temptation had hid in the darkness of the hallways, when he heard the recognizable shout of "ALCHEMIST!!" from Lord Fear echo through. "Joy..." he muttered to himself as he went on.
I mean, fighting sounds better then getting fed a sinking potion. What would Lord Fear do without his alchemist?
The alchemist returned to his lab in the tower in a bad mood. Walking in and shutting the door behind him, he muttered crossly, "Great, just great. Lord Fear wants a love potion made before the wedding at midnight, and I still haven't found my hammer! Plus the crystals are still missing, so I'm going to be behind schedule, and he's going to blame that on me. . . !" He groaned and shook his head. "Things can't get much worse." At that moment, he felt the tip of cold steel pricking the back of his neck. "Put your hands on your head and turn around slowly," Temptation ordered icily. He bore Joy's shortsword that she'd lent him earlier. Trembling from head to foot, the alchemist obeyed. When he looked upon the teen's scarred face, he cried, "You! Lord Fear's nephew!" "Do you want to live, alchemist?" Temptation demanded. "I have a name, you know!" the older man blustered. "I am Dr. Mortimer Farthingworth, the most brilliant scientist to exist in this medieval era!" "Mmhm, all right, Marty--" Temptation said. "My name is Mortimer--" "I don't care, I'm trying to save the world and Joy!" Temptation snapped angrily. "Now look; you heard the slaves escaped, right?" "Right. . ." Mortimer looked upon the boy suspiciously. "It's not going to take long before they reach the closest town and reveal that Lord Fear is planning an uprising against the king. I know, because I'm the one who set them free. And you can bet that a legion of the king's Royal Guard will be here by sunrise to arrest each and every person who's working for my uncle." Dr. Farthingworth's bony face paled in horror; he realized the young man was right. Nothing would save him from the Royal Guard once word got out. "So," Temptation continued. "Unless you want to be arrested and executed for high treason, you might want to help me. I've got some leftover dynamite from the quarry, and I am not afraid to use it to blow up this castle so that I can get my friend out of here. You can either join me, or blow up with this tower." Marty hesitated, looking uncertain. "Oh, and I found your hammer," Temptation added casually, revealing it from his pocket.
I'd help him if I were you Marty. THE HAMMER! He had it!
Temptation presented the hammer in front of Dr. Farthingworth. It was a beautiful hammer still in new condition, crafted with the finest and heaviest of iron, and a hand-carved wooden handle that made it feel more like a weapon than a tool, and etched on the base of the handle was the name "Mortimer Farthingworth" in the fanciest of text styles.
"Ooh, my hammer! Where did you find it?" Asked Dr. Farthingworth.
"It was in the mines. Someone must have brought it there and tried to use it to extract the crystals." Temptation replied.
"Gimme, gimme gimme!" Dr. Farthingworth said as he reached for the hammer, but Temptation held it high, then to the side, and behind him as Dr. Farthingworth reached for it like a cute puppy trying to grab a stick from its owner's hand.
Temptation said, "Let me remind you, if you want your hammer back, you must help me."
Dr. Farthingworth thought about it for a moment, then he said, "Fine. I'll help you, but only because I want my hammer!"
"Ok. Let's go to your lab. We will discuss the details there." Temptation said.
The two of them were about to go to their lab, but upon reaching the door, Lord Fear stood waiting.
"Are the potions done yet?" Lord Fear said with a bit of rage.
"Potions?" Dr. Farthingworth said with confusion.
"Yes the potions." Lord Fear said mocking him. "The love potion for Joy and the Maximus Tentaculous potions for the cookies. They're supposed to be due now so that the cookie shipments can go to the villages!"
"At the same time as Joy and Greed's wedding?" Dr. Farthingworth asked. "YES! Don't you see? The cookies are their wedding treats to all the villages!" Lord Fear replied.
"Right, your lordship. I will bring you the potions." He said as Dr. Farthingworth and a carefully disguised Temptation went into the lab. Lord Fear gave some stern looks at the shadows of Temptation's face inside the hood, but couldn't tell it was Temptation. They closed the door behind them, and Dr. Farthingworth started mixing some potions at his desk.
"I thought you said you were going to help me?" Temptation whispered. "I am. These are fakes. I'm just mixing these to give it to Lord Fear which won't actually work." Dr. Farthingworth said softly.
He just wants his hammer! XD I think Marty is my third favorite character in this.
"Me? Lying? "
