If by torch stuff you mean incrementally and eventually convince the design team to create/install a plugin that allows us to choose our ranks as we 'unlock' them so to speak, yes. We get to torch stuff.

This makes ranks just another way to customize and not an accomplishment - ranks were a fun way to reward you as you kept posting, and the themed ranks were just to keep it interesting. If you really like anime or pirates or knights, you can acknowledge this with your avatar or username. I see where you're coming from, and it's not an awful idea, but I don't think it would work, sorry.

Your numerical rank should not come at the cost of being stuck with a title you don't connect with. You are still earning ranks and your numerical rank would still show above your title.
