(Not sure if this is okay, or not, I think asked a while back, but I can't remember, but essentially this is just a roleplay that uses more stats and stuff like that for roleplaying to determine success. This is also a two post introduction, as the original post was too long!)
Greetings, everyone! This is, as the title says, Paradise - A Bionicle Roleplay.
What Is Roleplaying?
Roleplaying is taking the role of most frequently, a fictional character, which most often you create. In a way, it is similar to acting! You try to act as how your character would in the situation the Game Master, or storyteller has given you.
How Do You Roleplay?
As I mentioned above, roleplaying is similar to acting, but I’m going to give a very basic explanation for how roleplaying works.
1) The Game Master describes the environment to the players – In this case, I will be the game master, and I will describe the environment and setting to you, the players.
2) The Players describe the environment to the players – You describe to me what you want to do. The options are up to you.
3) The Game Master describes the result of the player’s actions – I will tell you whether you succeed in your actions in step 2 or not. If you want to try to identify a mark on a wall, there is a chance you may not succeed, but it doesn’t hurt to try!
These general rules apply everywhere with some exceptions in combat, where it is a bit more technical. There will be a tutorial in game explaining this, and everything else, so don’t worry!
Small Extra Notes:
− Specific rules beat general rules (kind of exceptions to certain rules).
− I might make small edits and updates to the system as I go, which I will post here.
− And remember; always ask questions if you are ever confused! :-)
