Okay, do any of y'all remember that old Ninjago comedy I made back in 2014? Well, guess what? It's back! Woo! And hopefully better than ever!
Welp, without further notice...
Chapter 1
WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!
I struggled to keep my eyes closed, curling into a fetal position as I groaned.
WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!
I opened one eye and realized I had created the most obnoxious alarm clock known to man.
BZZT!
Oh, and did I mention it zaps you if you don't get up? Yeah. Regrettable.
Well, I got up and hit snooze, before turning off the alarm to make sure that didn't happen again. But I was glad I was awake. Why? Because danger called.
No, not that kind of danger.
I bet you're expecting some high-thrill ride of a lifetime or a huge war or something. But nope. What I'm really thinking about is...
...a date.
I had promised to take my girlfriend, Nya, on a date.
The thing is, I had never really thought of a location for said date.
And it was tonight.
Guess I was gonna have to cancel if I couldn't make up my mind, unless...
My eyes widened as an idea suddenly hit me, like a bolt in the rain. What if I just...
...set up a guys' night for my roommates and Nya and I could be alone together?
Great idea, Jay. I applaud myself for my cleverness.
But there was a drawback: how was I supposed to convince them to go have fun without Nya and I? It just sounded so strange in my head. Usually they'd take us along with them; if anyone was left behind, it was Lloyd, the youngest.
I sighed. Where would they want to go? What sort of activities would appeal to them?
...How could I convinced them that Nya and I would be alright alone?
Come on, Jay. Work that big nerd brain of yours. You can do this.
Unfortunately, as soon as I got up, I thought, Wait...but what would we do?
Maybe we should go out. It's not like I'm gonna go through the trouble trying to persuade everyone to leave. Ugh, especially not Zane.
Oh, but I'm not going to spend a bunch of money either!
I huffed and grabbed my laptop, immediately looking up affordable restaurants that were good. Wait, we didn't have to just go to a restaurant! We could go to the mall, or check for some special event going on around town.
I looked up places around the Ninjago City area, with no luck, as everything I'd want to do was either expensive or far away from our living space. I kept looking, and a certain option stood out: The Ninjago City Library Geek Convention.
I stared at it for a while. I knew I didn't want to miss it, but what would Nya think if I took her to some nerd con instead of something more...normal for a date.
She would want to go paintballing. But she always won, and it was...physically painful. Maybe if she went to see a movie? I was afraid of that one, with the possibility of talking too much during it and her most likely being disinterested.
Maybe he could go to the amusement park again? I mean, what was the possibility of humiliating myself this time?
No. No, no, no. I slammed the laptop shut and lay his head on the table, utterly disappointed and conflicted.
"Jay?" Nya's voice snapped me out of my despondent state. "Good morning, sweetie...you look stressed, is everything alright?"
I walked over, still in my pajamas, opened the door and sighed. "Alright. I'll come clean. I know I asked you out only yesterday but I can't seem to think of a single place we could go. I'm sorry, Nya." My natural accent came out, dang it. I really hoped Nya hadn't noticed my usual Jersey accent slip away.
"It's alright. Wanna go paintballing?" Nya smirked playfully.
"Nooo!" I shielded my face, laughing a bit
"I'm joking, I'm joking!" She laughed too, then smiled at me. "There's a cool restaurant I found online. Don't worry, I'll pay for it. I know how much you don't like to pay and-"
I smiled, possibly like an idiot. "That sounds great. I mean, should I dress nicely or-"
