Con rolled over as he woke and immediately wished he had done neither. He couldn’t restrain a groan as his entire body felt like he had been in a wreck. Oh yeah, that’s right, he had been. He was just deciding that he could fall back asleep and stay that way till things hurt less when the door slammed open against the wall and Damian paraded in. Damian strode over to the bed and began poking Con repeatedly in the shoulder, right on top of a bruise actually. “Heeey, time to get up bro. A friend told me that today’s your big b-day.” Con sat up groggily and half glared at the senior agent. “I forgot. ‘Sides, I don’t feel like the world’s biggest party boat right now.” Damian laughed and yanked the blinds so they streamed light into Conner’s bloodshot eyes painfully. “Aw c’mon, you only get to turn 17 once. Besides, the rest of us need a party.” Con chuckled wryly. “Oh I get it now, you just wanna have a party and I’m a good excuse, I see how it is.” Damian winked and pointed at the younger man, “There ya go.” He began to back out the door talking as he exited, “If you’re not out in 20,” He vanished and yelled the rest, “I’m coming in and hauling you out ready or not!” Needless to say Con was motivated enough to grab his hoodie and put a bill cap on over the hair he didn’t brush and leave his room quick enough. He came out to find everyone gathered in the living room holding cups of coffee and plates and, strangely enough, looking like they were going somewhere. Nexo handed him his cup of coffee and Katie handed over her plate of coffee cake, then took Zachariah's. Everyone smiled at him expectantly as he chewed. He muttered through his mouthful rebelliously, “Well I ain’t gonna give a speech if that’s what you all want.” His brother laughed, “Nah we’re just waiting for you to get your fill, figured we’d visit the others and then do something fun.” Con jammed the rest of the bite into his mouth and did the putting-on-sock dance then pulled on his beat up sneakers that fit just right. He followed the rest of the gang as they exited the exotic German house and made their way around the HQ towards the hospital building.
Minutes later they entered the sunny room were their three three downed teammates rested in beds. Except Jay who was sitting in an armchair nearby, she would heal the fastest needing only time to recuperate her energy. Laila was propped up by pillows into a sitting position and looked pretty okay aside from some stitches and a concussion, Landon was standing next to her half leaning against the bed to take the weight off his bulky leg cast but was otherwise was his normal cheerful self. Alex was propped up just a little and smiling wanly. Jay perked up when all the visitors entered, chirped a hello and even stood up and gave hugs out. Laila was mock upset that they hadn’t brought her a piece of cake and was getting back to her fiery self. Alex, on the other hand, was sluggish in response and talked more slowly on account of the meds. After a nice long visit, in which Con was wished happy birthday several times, the healthy members of the gang set out through the HQ once more. Con queried Damian curiously, “Where are we going next?” Damian kept up his brisk walk, “Gonna chat with the Byrds and pick up Elliea, she’s with them.” Con thought for a second, “Is that where Source is too?” Damian made an odd facial expression, “Nobody really keeps track of where he is. Has a habit of slipping away and hiding in far off dark crevices. He’s not here that’s for sure anyways.”
They all moved into another part of the weirdly shaped HQ and found themselves nearly blinded by yellow and aqua barber striped wallpaper and a rich purple roof with rusty orange couches on black shag rugs. Damian walked up to Elliea and the rest followed blinking frantically. Nowhere was safe to look! Elliea looked up, wiped the tears off Damian’s face and flicked them away, “Aw are you crying? You big softy.” He squinted through the tears, “Actually I’m quite collected, this room is killing me.” Elliea looked around him and saw some of the other wiping tears as well. She laughed, “Oh. So much for that.” Damian muttered something darkly under his breath and turned to the Byrds who were standing a couple of feet away. “Report.Tomorrow I make the official report to King and the First and Second so make it good and I won’t slay anybody.” The Byrds quickly recounted how they and Source had called in all the favors they had and several they didn’t when things started to seem to go down the tubes. Damian nodded and agreed that they’d all done well and said he’d commend them for it before turning toward Conner. “I think it’s ice cream time.” Several rowdy hoots of excitement came from the group as they all trouped towards the exit. Con led them as they entered the massive sky blue and red polka dotted hallway and had to double take when he realized that the entire place was filled with some hundred agents, all the people from camp and from the mission last night. They were all raucously clapping and cheering, whistles flew around their heads. Con walked down the corridor and couldn’t stop grinning, and when they all rained rolled up socks down on him once more he had to wipe away a few errant tears. They finally made it to the last room before the exit, the computer room and this time Conner stopped in his tracks. All the screens had a single repeating message scrolling on it, Happy Birthday Oakhurst. You made it this far, lucky you. Dozens of screens scrolling along happily.
Thaddeus Diastemer was freed along with three other people from the wreckage and went home after getting checked for injuries and giving an official statement. Maya was waiting for him and things had changed. He had spent hours in that tiny cell, waiting, knowing that Fealon would want revenge. Thinking your about to die will change your perspective drastically. He suddenly was incredibly grateful for everything he had taken for granted. Life was fresh again, air was sweet, water was clean. The first things he was going to do was make sure Maya knew how important she was to him. Then he was going to start living for others more. He was going to value everything.

Mia was changed, jail did that to you, gave you loads of time to think that is. It was incredibly strange but once Fealon disappeared from her life all the dark secrets from her past that he had held over head, all the mental beating and invisible chains...they had all dropped away. And here in her tiny dark prison cell, probably there for life, she felt the most free she ever had.

King found that time, not work would ease his pain. The more time he took to heal and find life around him the more the pain dulled. It probably would never fully go away, but it didn’t have to be all consuming anymore.
Source chose not to press charges against Cipher, they had stood face to face. Hacker to hacker. Eye to eye and he saw deep into the other man’s eyes, into his soul. He knew that if he could, Cipher would go back and undo what he did. Cipher regretted shooting Edmond deeply and that touched the tiny surviving part of Samuel left that wasn’t cold. So he had let go and mercy was born. Besides, if anybody asked he could just say it was professional courtesy. It’d be fun to leave them wondering…
Katie took deep breaths and gripped the wheel of her SUV. She was going home and she was going to exercise her new courage. She was going to sit down with her parents and sort everything out. Lady Prune would be looking for a job. She was determined to fix things now, it might hurt, it might mean tears, it might be hard but she was going to do it. Bunny’s memory would not be forgotten and it was time for Katie to take charge of her life. After that she was going to continue in her Eagle capacity and take special lessons from Zechariah detailing in how to blend in better.

Cade was changing things too, he went back to his apartment, through the back window specifically, and packed his few things into his two backpacks. Then he left money for the rent and moved into a new place closer to his new friends. He also started entering parkour competitions and doing more social events.

Jane’s talent was discovered and she started doing flute concerts in her free time and also began philanthropic projects with her inherited fortunes. She fostered children and began looking into adoption some time in the future.

Laila decided not to go home. She wasn’t in line for the throne anytime soon, had plenty of resources, and would probably kill people if she was had to have an arranged marriage. So she moved into Lilly’s extra room and they shared the costs and went on the town with the guys as often as possible. She also moved all her Star Wars stuff in and set about collecting more.

Alex straightened his jacket and took a steadying breath. He was going back to his home country briefly to settle his past. The future? Who knew what it would bring, but one thing he had learned in this adventure and two near death experiences was that life was short and thus, not to be wasted. So he made up his mind not to waste it, he was living all he could.

Chapter Sixty-Eight Growing Pains (part 3)
Con sighed and rubbed the back of his neck before going in search of his brother, he found him in the paining room looking over some of Lilly’s pieces and kicked off the conversation in a typical manner. “Hey.” Nexo responded in the expected way. “Hey.” Conner continued, “I been thinking. What with mom gone and all...I think we should go see the family in Ireland. They’ve been dying to meet you and, well they almost feel more like my family you know?” Nexo thought for a moment with a hooded expression before smiling, “Yeah, I think that’ll be good.” He slung an arm around his younger brother’s shoulders. “Let’s do it. Might be pretty good for us.” Con felt something sharp inside his chest click back into the proper place. Maybe this was what healing felt like?
Out of the darkness into the light. Perspective can affect everything. Breaking through involves healing and it is the most spectacular feeling of freedom that has ever been experienced.
I'll be posting the official disclaimer and cast and crew list later today (since it's really late/early XD) and the easter egg list at a later date. : )
Also I will be putting out a trailer for this story (even though I just finished it, ik) because it would be weird to put out trailers for one and not the other(s). I'm tired. ;p
