Okay, so this is the nicer ending where I'll tie everything up. It starts from Chapter 63 so if you need to refresh go ahead and read that. Starting out some of it will be the same but bear with me.
Chapter Sixty-Four Separation Anxiety (part 1)
Mia could hear them, she could feel them, they were near. They were afraid. They should be. She signaled her team. They moved forward, filling the hallway suddenly and opening fire. Jay reacted instantly and threw up her arms, all the bullets and rounds fell uselessly a few feet in front of her, everyone took cover on the sides of the hallway. Her arms started trembling, if she didn’t keep up they would all get shredded soon enough. Elliea shouted for her to fall back, but Jay seemed to be frozen, her eyes were closed and her body strained. Landon was closest, he wondered if he should tackle her to the side, would a last ditch risk like that even work? Someone at the end hurled a grenade and he reacted, pile driving her to the side. Their world shook and everything was fire and grit. Hot water splashed everywhere and up and down lost meaning. Elliea inhaled water when she landed and coughed violently to clear it. She scanned the hallway as gray water ran from her mouth and nose, she snorted to clear her airways and dragged herself through the still churning water. She looked around, Jay had deflected the majority of the blast back into the enemy’s ranks. Elliea shouted for the others to say something if they were still alive. Everyone called back though some sounded disoriented and possibly slightly injured. Landon had at the very least a broken leg, he was also a little burned from being so close to the explosion. Jay was safe and curled up tiny against the tile. She was unconscious but Elliea thought that was because she was exhausted. She freed Katie from under some wreckage and hobbled down the hallway. Laila had gotten shrapnel in the leg but insisted on coming. So they went on, Laila and Katie nearly having to carry Landon, and Elliea was carrying Jay. Thank goodness Jay was so petite
Mia growled to herself, her idiot team failed, it was up to her now. She stepped out into the hall and held her metal baton in a ready position. They shot at her but she whirled her pole and deflected them. One of the girls charged her and Mia swung at her head. She blocked it to Mia’s surprise with fast reflexes. They parried and danced back and forth, she was better than Mia had first thought, trained in self defense. Faking a whack at her left shoulder Mia dodged right and grabbed her shoulder and dislocated it. She put the girl between the team and her and kept a grip on the shoulder, she moved it and the girl stayed bent in agony. She slammed her head against the wall and let the teen slump to the ground badly dazed. She fought the other two girls as they attacked at the same time. She moved in a blur, she was fresh and they were tired. She knocked the small one with the weird eyes out and the other girl backed away for a moment. They locked eyes. Mia felt the urge to say something, “Give up now and I'll make it quick.” The girl spit to the side and held her fists up in the classic boxing position. “I'll get up until there is nothing left.” Mia took an angry step forward and shouted, “And I'll put you down every time you get up!” The girl smiled, “So do it then.”
This injured one was unarmed but he threw a brick at Mia. It did nothing, Mia knocked him down. She marched down the hallway in search of the others. Katie hauled herself to Elliea and tried to wake the other girl. Landon shook his head trying to clear it. Random lights were flashing in his vision, he scooted to where he could see the others then crawled over to where Laila was floating as fast as he could. He pulled her head into his lap and pushed her hair out of her eyes. “Hey, you okay?” The girl nodded painfully, “I’ll live. Would’ve been way more dramatic if I’d died.” Landon felt like shaking her, hard, “Don’t even joke like that!” ***
The gang was relieved and ecstatic to see the others of their group. They all crashed into violent death grip bearhugs and wept. Jay, Alex, and Laila were on stretchers ad Landon flickered between each of them swiftly actually using his powers so he could watch them all at once. It was like he was so engrossed he did even feel the pain. Con tried to count the shadow Landons zooming around but was so tired that his eyes were blurring in and out of focus. The teens were huddled silently in the rain looking like a miserable clutch of chicks, silent as shock began to kick in. Landon checked them all out eventually and gave them all electrolytes and protein bars while he tended their less serious wounds. Con later saw him inject his leg with what he assumed were painkillers. Some kind soldiers erected a tarp to stave off some of the rain. The night blurred and some of them drifted off in turns held up by their comrades. Finally an hour after dawn the ambulances slogged onto the scene, the roads were very bad in some places. Everyone began shipping out and packing up. The teens were so exhausted by this point that they no longer registered anything and one by one they all fell dead asleep.
I'm so happy they won and everyone's alive. I prefer this version much more. :'3
*medics run up and shake their heads in a foreboding manner* Well, she's pretty far gone. We'll do what we can though I guess.
What kind of idiot do you take me for?! She literally just passed out, do CPR, or something or so help me I'll-I'll boil your teeth! I'll invert your rib cages you lilly livered vagabonds, naow dO SOMETHING!!!
Now sir be reasonable! *all the medics are terrified* She passed out because of all that damage on the field. *sees look on face* but we'll do absolutely everything we can!! O.O
Nothing, I am innocent. XD Cats just seem to usually dislike me. I've been scratched and bit by "friendly" cats for no reason. 3: *squeals* I just found out bout dos! They're pretty cute!! :3 :3
Huh, maybe cats don't like sass. Aren't they?:3:3
Maybe. I usually don't sass animals though. I was just petting it and it was purring and rubbing then BAM! YAS!!! :3 :3 :3
Think of the brattiest kid you know. You wouldn't want to hang out with them would you, and if you did have to you would be miserable. So now think of a nice, friendly, and considerate person (you), people would want to hang out with him and would also have fun. Make better sense? Yea, but rough builds us up.
I wouldn't want to hang out with him, sure, but that doesn't mean I'd just leave him. I'm pretty straight forward when shutting down brats, bullies, and the like. It does indeed. Yeah, but rough is oft avoidable.
I can see bullies but when people are bratty I generally don't see it as my place to try and correct them. Ah good, I haz basic communication. Sometimes.
