Yeah. I've made most of my cars that are at least 6-studs wide fit two minifigures since it has the space. Yep.  Wow, do you have any photos? 
Indeed.  Here's a car I made a long time ago and was my first LEGO Ideas project. Both minifigures fit within 6-studs quite nicely.

Indeed. Here's a car I made a long time ago and was my first LEGO Ideas project. Both minifigures fit within 6-studs quite nicely. Wow, it looks really good. Nice choice of windshield.

The one that goes on a unique hinge piece, right? Exactly, yes, it's a really useful size and shape, especially for building classic cars.
