I have problems appreciating modern art as well. It just feels so lazy to me, or like they put too much effort into making the piece's meaning obscure and uncomprehensible to the point that it has no meaning whatsoever (which means, of course, that they can apply any meaning they want to it without question).
TBH I'll eat any sort of pizza. If it's food, I'll gladly have it.
"Ah, yes, see this dot right here? It represents the briefness of life and the relatively little impact an individual exerts over the vast emptiness we all know as the world. The heavy stroke can be compared to our desperation to search and attain meaning behind our lives, struggling on as we go. The choice of colors here, if you've noticed, are black and grey, precisely employed to form a stark contrast against the dancing white lines in the foreground. This is meant to show the tension between the inner and the outer states of being: the on-going conflict of the chaotic mind and the status quo. No, this totally isn't because I accidentally set the brush on the canvas when I forced myself to finish it at 3 in the morning after pulling two all-nighters. What a ridiculous accusation. Now, the splattering---"
Right?
Security: Animals aren't allowed in this art gallery, sir.
Me: It's my guide dog.
Dog: Picasso, born October 25th, 1881, was a Spanish painter...

I worked very long in the night to make this (And that weapon as well), im glad i did it, all i need to do now is add some noise to his clothing and fabrick and some shine to the Ivory Blade, and it'll be perfect! Next on the list: Retrace Fangcrusha's drawing and make the "Serpent Blade of Constricting Gemini Flames". I've improved over time, alright...
(This image was made back in... oh i dunno, 2016-2015? WELL, it's old, it's an semi-outdated look, Thank Arceus i revised it.)

Fav. Art Tools: I mainly do digital and watercolour artwork now, with lots of sketching in between - and colour pencils / markers / acrylics / oils when I can!
What I like to draw: Animals mostly - lots and lots and lots of animals . . . especially horses and canines, in cartoon style as well as realistic. But I like to try draw anything for a bit of a challenge, including LEGO minifigs (trying to get the proportions and that shiny plastic effect right lol). Animation has become a fav. now too!
Art Question! : Is there anywhere to post LEGO artwork / builds here (or another site) other than the Lego Creations Galleries? Asking for my brother TIA!
Thanks! And welcome to Artist's Chat, A4!
Drawing animals is cool I wish I was better at drawing animals Oh and animation is cool! I've actually been starting to try to start making animations
As for the question I'd say yes, but I'm not sure how many of them I can mention. Nothing official though sadly except for LEGO Life I think? There might be another LEGO site as well but it's just for builds I think.

You're welcome. I imagine it is, and look forward to trying it! (And may also look to your speedpaint vids for help. ) Oh, I hadn't yet realised that different brands also gave different results. (O_o) Oh, so the white pencil acts as a blending tool.? So that's what it's for. Well, I'll give it a go and tell you how it went, provided I used it correctly. Do you have a favourite art piece?
(Sorry for not replying to this before D:)
(Oh, I'm happy if they can help I'm not a expert but my ways work for me ^_^)
For sure, if I get new art supplies I always test out how they are different from the brands I have ^-^ Sometimes the difference is huge in quality or in texture or something. You can also use white colored pencils on black paper or dark-colored paper but it's useful for blending as well ^_^
Alrighty
Hmm. Honestly I'm not sure. I have a lot of favorites and I feel like I keep making new ones better than the last ones ^^'
(Oh, that's alright. XD A couple months later and I thought you'd forgotten and/or didn't want to reply. But anyway, welcome back! )
(They do. It helps break down the here to there process which I find a tad difficult to grasp, all the while giving an insight into your unique art style. (^ ^)
Awesome! I don't have much money to spend on art supplies but it's a handy tip to keep in mind the various qualities/results. Heheh, I haven't tried it as of late I'm afraid; life's since then taken yet another turn for the worst so I've kinda been busy bandaging those blows to see to much else.
Oh that's cool. It's interesting, the art process from earlier to present, though I don't like to look at older art due to my perfectionist nature. When did you get into art?
Horrid I mean, it's okay. I have problems appreciating modern art, so that's gonna be an issue.
I'm quite partial to hawaiian pizza myself.

Something is just inherently wrong with it.
I guess it's all about making the viewer do more work and the artist less.

Whoah, some high quality drawings there! The background on the second one is especially epic!
