I can play four different instruments with varying skills - I am most skilled on piano, and can play some clarinet. My trumpet playing is rather limited as well, and I only just picked up guitar earlier this month.
I usually like to listen to some Electric Light Orchestra (my favourite band) when I just want to listen to some music.
Cool, I only know piano, though I tried violin for a summer a while back.
I know Mr Blue Sky from them...do they do any other good ones?
Hm... They've done plenty of good ones (in my opinion), and I believe they've had the most top 40 UK and US hits without a single number one in terms songs.
I would look at the singles from the albums A New World Record (1976) and Out Of The Blue (1977), because those songs have proven to be pretty popular. If you like a bit of Disco, maybe try Discovery (1979).
I want there to be a good side to Nightcore, it just sounds so interesting as a genre concept. There's also Daycore (slowed down pitch lowered), and then there a speed-up version of dubstep stuff that I forget the genre name of . :/
I heard Trap Christmas for the first time today...it's an interesting genre. :P

Hello there!
Wow, that's quite a verity of instruments. I just play piano. What kind of music do you like to play? The clarinet I think is my favorite instrument, although the contra-bassoon has a very appealing sounds too.
Interesting choice in band preference, classic stuff, no?

I usually like to play some Jazz and Rock on the piano, or something with a bit an upbeat tune.
I haven't heard a contra-bassoon before, nor have I seen anyone ever play one before. I've heard of it before, though.
ELO could be called a classic band from the 70s (interestingly enough, the original concept was to mix rock and roll instruments with more classical strings instruments).
You mean bangarang? What about the song: 'Where are U now'?
Yes, I was saying Bangarang was a good impression of Skrillex.
"Where Are Ü Now" isn't necessarily a bad song, but if you're talking in terms of examples of Skrillex, no, "Where Are Ü Now" sounds nothing like him. I guess it helped it was a collaboration with Diplo and Justin Bieber while simultaneously aiming for the radio.
So Where are U Now is more like a Diplo song? I think Bangarang was a radio song too but I'm not entirely sure.

I kind of know my oldies rock, and I just don't remember hearing their names mentioned much...maybe the radio stations I listened to didn't include their stuff.
I threw on a track from A New World Record, I'll try a couple out!
I heard Trap Christmas for the first time today...it's an interesting genre.
Mmm... sounds different. But why in September?
Better than original Christmas. One of my professors lets students DJ class work periods, and we ended up with that after it was discovered that our professor had never heard of it. Not that I had either.

Hm, maybe you've heard of the song "Don't Bring Me Down", that one is fairly well known by the group, it was the song that charted the highest in the U.S., and one of their more successful songs.

(P.S. Grooooooose)
(Listen to the song, and you will understand)
I didn't realize that was them! Yeah, I love that song.

Interesting. Any favorite jazz and rock pieces?
I meant to say that those two instruments were my favorite wind instruments.
I've always appreciated the contra-bassoon since Gustav Mahler's 9th Symphony. It has a very deep and complex sound. It really catches the ear and reminds me much of a bass clarinet but with a more sorrowful sound.
Can't say that classic-rock is my forte. I do dabble in post-rock/ambient-shoegaze stuff. Hammock is often on my mind and in my heart musically speaking.

So because your professors had never heard of it, you played it? Sounds like an interesting preposition, although a strange genre was heard. :P

It wasn't me, somebody else was DJing for the day.
My first two modern pop songs that really got me into the genre (because I had listened to and liked so many others but never got into pop too much) were Capital Cities’ “Safe and Sound” and OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars.”
