I prefer Pocahontas, actually, though that may be an unpopular opinion. It probably is, because of all the defining films we mentioned.
Yep. If you could only choose one or two characters, who would you say you relate the most to? Hmm, duet song...that's hard. I'd have to say "I Just Can't Wait to Be King," for obvious reasons, and it's one of my most favorite songs to sing for karaoke.
Yeah, no kidding. xD They could exchange evil plans and give each other tips.
I do think they should continue to make 2D films, for old time's sake like you said, and also continue with 3D films. I've wondered that too, especially Moana and Frozen. I guess we get to see a glimpse of what Tangled would have looked like in 2D with the TV series.
It's really hard to decide, I know. Good choice; Cinderella is a very good character and one of the three original princesses that Walt himself created. I think my most favorite is Moana, she's very funny and brave, and I can relate to her in a lot of ways. I also really like Pocahontas, Elsa, and Rapunzel. Maybe , but I think it's a really nice film. It balances humour with its serious tone very well in my opinion, more so than Aladdin's incessant boisterous humour.
I'd say the two characters I relate most to would be Quasi-modo and Elsa. I mean, why can't they just be real so I can hang out with them? *Sigh* I guess I'll just have to write those fanfics.
Yeah! I mean, by all means Hans could have very well succeeded in his treasonous plan if it weren't for those meddling Princesses. I'm so sorry I had to do it. XD But seriously, I'm intrigued that the power of love itself shattered Hans' blow. Would you say that the magic tied to Elsa's blast infused within Anna had something to do with it?
It would be really awesome if they did that to retain the art of both animations styles. I really like Tangled in 2D. I think it would have really worked out for Disney's 50th animated feature.
And of course with more Princesses comes harder decision. Though I personally think they've exhausted the amount of available ethnicities. Probably a stupid question to a Disney fanatic but: did you know that Cinderella was Walt's favourite Princess? All good choices. I think Moana's makes a great Princess (if a Chief's daughter counts as an official Princess ). Who's your least favourite Princess? True. Aladdin is hilarious, but Pocahontas does have more subtle, yet still funny, humor.
Yup, fanfics are always a good answer. Always. I relate a lot to Moana, and Elsa in some ways.
You had to.... He came THISCLOSE to succeeding, and Scar actually did succeed for quite a long time, so I'd say they're both potentially successful villains. Hmm, that's an interesting question...I sat here for ten minutes trying to think of a good answer. I'd speculate that maybe, since love can reverse Elsa's magic, maybe the magic and love in Anna's heart combined to protect her like it did? Honestly, I've never completely understood the whole "love will thaw" concept, it's puzzled me since I first saw the movie.
Yeah, hopefully they will continue.
Perhaps... Ooh yes, and I believe the scene where her dress is transformed into a ball gown was his favorite scene.
(Well, at least she's a form of royalty I suppose...unlike Mulan. ) Hard one, I like them all really...I guess I'd have to say Aurora. She has the least amount of dialogue and I can't really connect with her personality as much as some of the others. Aurora was actually my favorite princess for a long time, though. Bit of a random thought, I still love her dress.
On the topic of the "daughter of the Chief" subject you mentioned...since Pocahontas and Moana are both chiefs' daughters, and Mulan actually has no royal status at all besides being honored by the emperor, do you think they should include some of the other heroines in the Disney Princess lineup?

Yeah, I prefer that type of humour more. Are there any good fanfics out there? I did... Yeah, the difference between the two is that Scar actually executed his plan, and would have set it in stone if he had better henchmen. Wow. I guess it is hard to wrap one's head around magic though, 'cause half the time it can't be explained. Yeah, I dunno whether it's the magic, the love, a combo of the two or the magic of love. Because Bulda (think that's the name?) said "love is a force that's powerful and strange", so maybe it was the love itself..?
Yeah. Maybe Aurora's lack of dialogue just makes her... unfavourable, to most? I'll have to watch the film again. Well, the thing is, (after some research) they're "Princesses" because it fits Disney's mythos as the equivalent. So, technically speaking I really don't think they should have the title of Princess, but more a heroine of status like the characters mentioned below, but higher than. You still with me? I'm not sure. What about that girl from The Black Cauldron? I guess she's the same 'level' as say Wendy from Peter Pan or Alice from Alice in Wonderland perhaps.

Hmm, I'm sure there are. Personally all I've mostly ever read are TLK fanfics, though I'm always looking for any good Disney-related ones. You write fanfiction much?
Exactly, those blasted hyenas. Henchmen seem to commonly fall under the category of "you had one job."
Yep. Something along those lines. Interesting that you brought it up, though, I've been puzzling over that one since 2014.
Yeah, I mean, it's not that I don't like her, but if I have to choose a least favorite I guess it'd be her. Who is your least favorite?
I think I stuck with you through that one. I agree; it would be pretty cool if they established a category called Disney Heroines, and added in characters like Alice, Wendy, Eilonwy (girl from The Black Cauldron ), Jane, Esmeralda, Kida, Nala, Kiara, Maid Marian, Megara, and such -- some of whom are already royalty. Then again, it doesn't have the same ring to it as Disney Princesses... They could also make a Disney Heroes lineup, that would include a ton of characters.

I'm not really a gifted writer, although I do come up with stories now an' then (when I have time to think ), and I actually came up with an idea for a sequel to Frozen. I'd like to get it on paper sometime, but unless a shuffle my schedule around I just don't have the time. Do you write fanfiction?
I know! XD I'd like to see villains get their hands dirty more (like Callaghan from Big Hero 6), then they might actually succeed!
Same here. Frozen's gotta be the most talked-about Princess film ever!
My least favourite would definitely be Megara. (I mean, if we're acknowledging the Princess mythology here ) It's just that she's so cynical that it grates upon my nerves for her entire screen time. Excellent. I think that would be most appropriate for technicality's sake. Wait a minute, isn't Kida a Queen? And I'd just like to bring a a little Disney theory that Jane is actually a descendant of Belle. Yeah, I guess it's just simpler in the end to just have the "Princess" category. Okay Disney Heroes would just be too huge a list. Coming back to Princesses, what do you think of Disney's 2012 redesign?

Oooh, that sounds interesting, how does it go? (If you don't mind telling, of course. ) Recently I have, actually, I started getting into it sometime last summer I think. I've written/am writing: a giant Disney one that incorporates a ton of different movies, a Fox and the Hound one with my best friend, a 100-page Lion King one, and several one-shot TLK fics. If you can't tell I have a bit of an obsession.
Very true. It's good for us that their henchmen always fail, but not so much for the villains.
Probably so, yeah. I was actually discussing some princess theories with some girls on my drill team yesterday, a lot of which were about Frozen.
Ooh, if we're going outside the official princesses, Meg is my least favorite too. I think you summed it up nicely. xD Another thing that bugs me is that people seem to think she's the only "strong female character" Disney has created outside of the official princesses. Hello? All the people I just mentioned...?
Kida is a queen, yes. Actually, they should make a subcategory for the queens and put Kida, Nala and Elsa in it. Oh, I've heard that one too -- I was originally against it but I guess it would be kind of cool. Yeah, that would be like, every movie ever...
If I'm correct, they redesigned some of their hairstyles and made their dresses more sparkly, right? I like it, since they didn't change their original design too much. The most changed was probably Ariel, and I do like her new gown -- but now I'm confused which dress I should normally picture her in. What do you think of it?

That's a toughie. . . I think it could be TLK's "Be Prepared". Ever since I sang that with you in the Karaoke Bar, I've been listening to it while working on the computer. What's yours? -- if you can decide.

Does some Studio Ghibli movies count as Disney? It's an animated movie studio in Japan that makes animated movies the old fashioned way, but Disney helped to distribute their movies all around the world and some of their movies are on Disney's website, although I think they might have broken their contract last year.

Sweet, that's the best villain song ever. Mine is "He Lives In You" from TLK's sequel, actually. So...our songs are basically in total conflict with each other's context.

It's pretty good, especially as far as sequels go. I especially like the soundtrack except for Upendi that song is just...weird xD I still prefer the first one, but the sequel stays true to the theme and basic story line of the original, which is nice. I do feel like a couple of the characters were a bit out-of-character in the sequel, but I think most people agree it's probably the best sequel Disney has made. So, it's totally worth watching.
Ooh, my favorites would have to be Moana and Pocahontas. What about yours?
