James Dashner is the author of the Maze Runner, which you've probs heard of. He also wrote Eye of Minds, which a very slight inspiration for this story. Richard Paul Evans is the author of the Michael Vey series, and the Christmas Box (which I've never read).

Update: Work has been resumed on sequel, I'm a bit over 4000 words in. Still working through flaws. I hope to start posting parts when I get past 6000.

Are they? I've only finished the second one a month ago. I still have Michael Vey on my "To Read When You Have Time and Opportunity" list, right next to LotR and The Hobbit.
