I honestly thought Mr E was going to turn out to be Cryptor. He could've easily uploaded part of his consciousness into the Digiverse during Day of the Departed, and then built himself a new body later. They could've also explored what he said in DOTD about being Zane's clone "brother". Oh well.
I honestly disliked DOTD a bit due to the thing that apparently Cryptor is in the Departed Realm despite.. well.. He's a robot. Like.. wut…
I just feel like they pulled that part to keep him from coming back.
I think DOTD should've been a season, or at least a 4 episode special, because the sets from that wave were building (no pun intended) intrigue about the emerald weapons all the villains had. I'd hoped that the Pythor in DOTD was a clone of the real Pythor, but I guess that would've been a little too futuristic for Ninjago.
Agreed. They definitely shouldn't have named him "Mr E" if his identity wasn't going to be a big reveal.
Honestly, I feel pretty iffy about this season. About that and I felt like there could have been more with the dragons. I don't know why but something didn't felt right.
I agree. The dragons the Ninja tamed seemed like Deus ex machinas at the end, especially since they didn't keep the dragons in Ninjago to use in later seasons.

It remains to be seen if the ninja will keep the new dragons. Since the Fire and Ice dragons haven't been made into sets, and Lloyd and Nya haven't got dragons of their own, I think they will be around for at least one more season. The Oni are also coming and are no doubt going to be some of the most dangerous enemies the ninja have ever faced, so I think they'll need the dragons for help.

I feel like they didn't focus on the "free the dragons" part good enough. Like something is missing.

Well, if the ninja got their dragons early on, they could just leave and end the First Realm arc early.

Maybe because the fire, ice, and earth dragons got very little screen time. Though that was probably because they weren't made into sets like Firstborn and Stormbringer.

I guess also we don't see the Ninja actually FREEING them(sure they saved/freed only ONE but still). They just happen to fly to them after they got the Firstbourne(or was it called Firstborn?) to help them. Like we don't know what truly happens to the rest of the dragons that are captured/enslaved.

They actually freed all of the dragons in episode 4. All of them. Really, go rewatch the episode, because you must have remembered that wrong. And don't tell me they weren't that important after that, because the ninja spent the rest of the First Realm arc looking for one powerful dragon that was their key to escape, and in the finale, they managed to take down the Oni Titan with the help of the civilians and Elemental Masters.
