Wait, didn't you join in '06? Or were you on the old old boards?
Yeah I joined in '06 with my first account, but I lurked before that to get hints for Junkbot and Worldbuilder. I finally made an account to chat with the R.E.D. team for the Drome Racers Challenge game. My dad made an account for all of us kids to use before that, but I don't remember what the username was, I was pretty young. He made it cuz you needed an account to play Brick Game if my memory serves me correctly, but he didn't want to just let us have accounts yet as online stuff was all still relatively new back then.
I got my account back in 2006 and I joined the LMBs on June 21, 2006. That means that I've been around on the LMB(E)s for 12 years! I originally got my account so I could play the Hordika Spinner Challenge game from 2005.
Oh boy, I've recently become quite nostalgic for the LMBs.
LEGO Life is terrible. You can only comment emotes and can't have your own username, it's so stupid. And moderation is terribly inconsistent. They are shutting down Rebrick now too which is sad.
I'm not sure I know what Rebrick is, but I agree, it's dumb. I have it just to have it, but I never get on or anything. I mean, I get it; it's a lot closer to what LEGO wants to do, right? Advertise their products? The MBs and Galleries, I feel, were always about getting people interested in LEGO products and creations and inspiring others (and perhaps they were slipping way too far away from that), and LEGO Life does this in a dumbed-down, lower-maintenance way.
Rebrick was a gallery offshoot site that LEGO launched. It was moderated but mean to share stuff from non-LEGO sites and they had competitions with big prizes and stuff. It was geared toward a more adult audience vs the normal LEGO.com galleries and was 13+ only.

All of you whippersnappers talking about the LMB's. I am from a time when the ranks were different! There were sherrifs, and legends, and journeyman ranks. Those were the original Lego message boards. Oh those were the days when Skullduggery and diglett were rising stars, and...and...

I remember, I remember. I remember JammyJam10, DesignerDude101 retiring, when Empire981 was still around. I remember when there was only one Manic active and "chatrooms" didn't exist.
I count it as far as the LEGO.com Message Boards might go. Although I don't know if you are actively participating in LEGO.com games, galleries, etc.
I too recently passed my 10 year mark, and I sorted through old memories. I really thought I would be able to quietly celebrate it in the Old Timers Topic back on LEGO.com, but it was not possible.
Yes, catching up would be a true pleasure.
Great, then I'm certified old. I forgot that your account was just a few months older than mine! That's cool. Yes, nostalgia sometimes hits like a ton of LEGO bricks, doesn't it (pun intended)? Fortunately, we are given these memories to make us smile, but not to dwell on for too long. :) Did you know that the boards were going out before they did? I knew it the day after they announced it, but I don't think I returned to wish them farewell. I probably should have. It was so different, though, then, it seemed. I am not active on LEGO.com anymore... I saw they changed it recently, yeah? Are you on there? I do have the LEGO Life app. :P
I'm not sure if you still hold your account, but I sent you a message (I don't know if it's name-droppable on here, sorry, but you probably know where I'm referencing).
Nostalgia hits me hard too, Peat-a-peat. There is a word that hits me harder though, Hiraeth, which means "a homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, or for a home which may have never been". Truly a place that one cannot return too. It was a major part of my childhood and it all changed so quickly. Still, the past does not exist to dwell in, only the present is available for that. I haven't logged into my LEGO.com account since the LEGO.com Message Boards were deleted.
I am not active anywhere on the whole wide internet but here. Any previous accounts anywhere are deceased. Funny how I've washed-up on this little corner of the internet, but here I am all the same.

Yeah yeah yeah Gramps. Keep talking about when there was no like button.
