This is just a place to post how you think Ninjago characters have changed over the years. I'll start with Jay, since he's always been my favorite.
Pilot episodes: Sassy, talkative, somewhat nosy comedian inventor with a slight New York accent and an eye for the hero's sister. S1: A bit more naive, less focus is put on his mouthy personality and more on his emotionality. His famously over dramatic panic moments start here. Gets a little more depth; some of his hidden insecurities are shown. Begins to lose the accent. S2: Protective of Nya, optimistic. More panic moments. That's all I can think of right now. S3: Though his childish naivety and cheer remain for the most part, Jay becomes more negative, hotheaded and aggressive during the infamous love triangle. But this is only from his glass heart being shattered. S4: Though aggressive towards Cole at first, Jay seems more cheerful here, almost as if he's back, which he kind of is. He is also much more positive and optimistic than in season 3. Relationship with Cole is eventually repaired and they are best friends once more. Season 5: Jay gets his final moments of childishness until after Skybound. He seems excited and intrigued, but also timid and scared. Also, Cyclondo! S6: Jay's fears and insecurities seem to be played up in this season. He becomes, shockingly, more mellow and melancholic, as well as more mature, especially going through Nadakhan's torture and during his moments with Nya. He is also tougher and more fierce than normal. DotD: He regains some of his childishness, but he still seems braver than usual. S7: Jay is once again "back," now with sensitive ears and sleeping with a Teddy bear. Affectionate towards Nya, friendly arguments with Cole, protective of his parents. Seems to have his head in the clouds a bit, judging from his conversation with Cole during a training scene. Movie: Shy, innocent and naive, but also rather sarcastic. Seems kind of clumsy, as well as clingy. Minor panic moments. "AAAHhh...hey, what's up?" S8: Seems to regain some more childish innocence, as well as being clingy, hiding behind people or grabbing their arm if he's scared. Fearful as usual, but cheerful and extroverted.

What's Cyclondo? Is that another name for Airjitzu?
