Heyo Everyone! Decided to start this story, been thinking about it for a while. Tell me what you think, opinions, what to change, what to keep. Anything. If the feedback's pretty good, then I'll likely continue. If not, I'll likely continue. I appreciate you reading and Enjoy!!
Sol 26, Mars Mission
Space. Full of wonders and possibilities. The Unknown that we are always reaching to, to learn and discover the Unknown; to make the Unknown known. That is what's important, that's the key to gaining knowledge, to advance, to adapt, to be human. I thought I was going to make a change, to be that 'hero'. I was one of the eight others who were at MB-01 and one of many at the battle of Olympus Mons. Well, if that's what this galaxy dishes up to you for trying to save your people, then I don't want anything to do with it. For now, I'm a botanist trying to do a soldiers job, in the middle of an inter-species war, on Mars, fighting over this 1 material; StudIron. Anonymous Aliens that we know nothing about that've been spying on us for who knows how long, knowing all of our defenses, all of our intentions, our attitudes, or psychology. They're willing to kill us for collecting this stupid rock with power in it. I didn't sign up for this. Well, what do I say? What do I do? Keep on moving, that's what. That's about all I can do right now.

The MARS MISSION
Every word he said, every point he made, My eyes got blurrier and blurrier and I started feeling fainter and fainter. "C'mon Dad! I can handle myself out there!" "NO, son, you WILL not go on that Mission! THAT'S FINAL." "But YOU did yourself, Dad! How the Brick is that fair!? Dad? Daaad! " That was all I could hear, as I fell to the ground, unconscious. Images were flashing through my head of the time that I almost dies out here. The Pain of the others around me, their moaning, the flickering of the lights, and that dreaded siren. All of it was happening in my mind, was what happened all those years ago. I did exactly what I would've done, with no regrets, dragging my colleagues to the rovers airlock in an attempt to save their lives. The first explosion was rough, but I kept going. I kept on wildly leaping and using every bit of energy left in me. Then, the second explosion occurred. The sheer wave of brutal force knocked me off my feet and bounded me 50 meters over the rover, knocking it over as well. The rest of it was a blur. When I woke up, I found myself in a bed inside the rover, with my science officer there next to me. Before I knew it, I was back on earth, with my family and at my home. That was the time that I've had nightmares about ever since, the time that 5 of the 7 crew that was sent up there died; on that stupid, ridiculous, red rock. That was the original Mars Mission. That was the 1 thing I didn't want my son to go anywhere near; That place and that Stupid, Red, Rock.
