I think he should. A GM that is part of the RP is far more likely to be biased than one that is not.

Before we choose a GM, we need to decide how long a term lasts. I vote for 3 months.
I'll tally the votes in one week, or when everyone has voted, whichever comes first.
Why must we elect a new one? Have the GM himself name a successor.
That's far too dictatorial. The GM already has too much power. But, however the next GM is chosen, there needs to be a limit on how long someone can hold office.
