OOC: I thought I had mentioned that in the outline post. Apologies. Emiliano is a neutral party who sailed the seas as did her family for generations as "Doves of the Sea", but when the time came those who needed to face justice learned of the Dove's other side "The Reaper of the Seas".
During Emiliano's time as Captain, a man named Varrow used his services as a privateer for the Spanish Crown to pit other kingdoms against one another for his personal gain. He kidnapped Spanish sailors and forced them to build his fortress on his private island. Emiliano has been tracking Varrow in order to for him to face justice, but was later framed by Varrow and now the Crown wants her imprisoned...especially after the accident at the other Tavern. Varrow of course, does not want her to reveal the information, so painting the Doves of the Sea as criminals helps him in that goal. However, the Doves have begun to fade into obscurity again, so few even believe the legend exists. Emiliano uses that mythical aspect to her advantage, but as of late her hope as begun to wane.
I believe I have some more info on her in the "Pirate's Bio" topic, but hopefully this was a sufficient outline. I've begun to forget my original plan for the story myself.

OOC: Thanks. Is Emiliano's current look known with her wanted description from the Crown?

OOC: I suppose her ears might be a big hint, though currently she is wrapped in rags from her disguise at the British Empire HQ.
A wooden rocking chair creaks with age as a gentle breeze blows through. Wiping a strain of hair to reveal a misshapen ear, the Captain of the Medical Clipper "La Paloma" takes a sip of her carbonated beverage as her first mate, Luz the Falcon scans the perimeter overhead.
It had been months since her ally Captain Kane left in search of intel regarding a ruthless pirate warlord that had taken over the French Port from the absent governor. Being a neutral vessel according to the laws written down by her family generations ago, the "Reaper of the Seas" policy of retribution angered many at the thought of an independent mercenary group and ordered her capture.
Having docked at the Double Sided Doubloon, Captain Emiliano expertly tosses a coin within the tip jar sitting on the counter. "Sithee, another round my fellow."
IC: *A figure clad in a navy pirate coat and hat walks up to the counter next to her. She hears a flintlock cock behind her, and a young, but gruff voice speaks up.* "How much'll ye give me not ta turn ye in."

Emiliano accepts the oaken cup, nodding to the server. Lifting the small whistle attached to a string around her neck, she blows it for a short time before letting dangle. Without looking back at the pirate, she offers them her cup.
"Oh, and who have I lost favor with, pray tell?"
A loud rumbling noise surrounds the Double Sided Doubloon, spooking many patrons inside.
Emiliano smiles, turning around and extending a hand. "If you wish I'll go quietly, though I would like to know who it is that invited me." Noticing the flintlock, she gently nudges it away with the tip of her finger.

Lowering her hat to shield her eyes, Emiliano hands the pirate a small pouch full of gold coins. "For your troubles."
Patting him on the back, she motions for him to follow. "An ally is worth more than a head friend. Shall we discuss the possibilities of working relations outside?" Glancing back at the server, she nods to keep cover.
One patron in a faded uniform throws them a nasty eye. He inches closer to the exit as if planning to block it.

Shifting her brow, Emiliano gently plucks the dirk from her side pocket and throws it in the direction of the pirate...
It flies past him, landing inches from the suspicious patron's head.
Emiliano feigns frustration, slumping her shoulders and shaking her head. "Aw, twas hoping for a bullseye!"
The patron breathes heavily, tripping on a wooden stool as he backs away. As he climbs back up, he points a trembling finger at Emiliano. "You...you meant that for me!"
Emiliano scoffs. "Did I?"
The patron leans on the table for support. "Yes...yes."
Emiliano looks at the pirate and smirks, shaking her head to address the crowd. "Should he have thought twice to stand near the dart board?" As the other patron's laugh, Emiliano notices the man whisper to his friends before storming out of the Dubloon. She hastens to the pirate. "I offer you a meeting on my ship. If you truly do believe in the myth of the Reaper, you'll know the Falcon that guards the crow's nest."
Waddling as if with limp, Emiliano brings her rags closer to her face. She winks at the pirate while mouthing the words "Must keep cover."

IC: *The pirate winks, slight enough to not be noticed by anyone but Emiliano. If Emiliano is walking out of the tavern, the pirate stays for a few minutes, then leaves. If Emiliano is not leaving the tavern right now though, the pirate walks out of the tavern.*

Emiliano exits the Tavern, staring intently at the moon. A smile slowly forms on her face, glad that the light of the moon is not obscured tonight.
Walking clumsily and hiding behind foliage to ensure potential followers, she is spotted by the Suspicious Patron after accidentally bumping into an abandoned barrel. Being distant from the Doubloon, his men circle the disguised hag. Crossing his arms, he snarls. "I know I recognize you. That throw...too good for an elderly vagabond."
Emiliano covers her head and mocking pleads for mercy. "Aye, what manner of business is this? Your mistaken sir. I merely visit for some good vittles in these hard times that have befallen meh."
The gang pull out their rusted cutlasses in unison. Emiliano breaks cover and stands upright with a bored look on her face. "Sithee, I too agree that was not particularly convincing." In a flash, she throws two dirks at them, grazing two of the gang's cheeks enough to stir confusion and disrupt the standoff.
Dashing back to her vessel, Emiliano comedically runs past the Pirate. Turning around, she attempts to control her breathing while warning him of the situation. "Well, I know this is off to a poor start, but you'll find the Reaper is in need of practice after a while." Looking over his shoulder, Emiliano's eyes grow wide at the gathering of angry soldiers dressed in faded uniforms following the Suspicious Patron to her location. "How did they ever find me here? And after all that promised hot chocolate."
OOC: This is in reference to the incident at the Tavern. It's...pretty ridiculous.

IC: *Emiliano seems to hear what sounds like a distressed cat cry. Cats walk out of the alleys, surround the soldiers and patron, and start loudly meowing at them and trying to jump on their shoulders. The pirate ducks around the nearest corner and pulls Emiliano with him. With the cats patting them, trying to climb on them, and meowing at them, the soldiers and patron are likely distracted enough to not notice Emiliano and the pirate disappear around the corner.*

IC: Her face left blank, Emiliano looks at her foot and sees a Birman Cat purring near her ankle. Bending down, she scratches its chin and nods. "I thank thee."
Standing upright, Emiliano raises an open hand. Suddenly, a polished cutlass falls from above. Catching it, she presents it to the Pirate. "In case of any further trouble."
The sharp cry of a falcon follows her statements, and a tiny floating fire hangs in the night sky. Luz, the falcon, carries a small fire pot in his claws, holding it steady. Emiliano encourages the Pirate to follow.
Sitting at a lonely table near the Tavern, two retried shipmen sip their beverages. One of them begins to choke on his drink as his eyes grow wide in astonishment. His friend pats him on the back, inquiring about his sudden shock. "Matey, what's wrong?"
The coughing shipman sputters out his drink and points upward. "Look, tis one of those flying craft! See, it glows!"
His friend looks in the direction of the glowing object and scoffs. "Nah mate, tis a really bright star it is."
The glowing object (Luz The Falcon's fire pot) moves, making the shipmen draw back in terror.

"Let's not speak of this to anyone."
"I think the mutton is getting to meh."
IC: *The pirate opens his coat on the right side to reveal a cutlass in his belt.* "I prefer mine, but thanks for the offer."
*He follows Emiliano or the falcon, whichever one's leading.*
