The only downside of being bilingual is when your grandmother comes from a... ahem, troubled country, she tends to listen to said troubled country's propaganda-charged news station. So uh, when she listens to said propaganda-filled news, and cheers for the government... one ends up understanding every word of it and being somewhat mortified T_T
Oh, that could be a problem.
When I try to talk to her about it her response is invariably: "BUT THE OPPOSITION DID THE ROADBLOCKS!!!"

*angrily grumbles*
You know, I'm Irish! Not Scottish! And it just so happens my family crest has a REALLY cool knight on it! What is this highland battler nonsense? Were the mods watching that famous R-rated Scottish movie or something? I wanna be a knight again! Now I've gotta wear this plaid skirt, and there's a REALLY bad draft in here!

Well, rank up again and then you'll be a forestman. Ireland has forests.

But I hate forests I much prefer plain fields of green with boardwalks, which Ireland also has

...Yeah, it's messed up.
Hm . . . I suppose that can't be changed.
The country itself is a mess. You know things bad when the country's opposition is considering trying to trick the U.S. into invading ._. I speak of Venezuela, since I didn't mention it by name yet
But uh... yeah. That's been one of the actual ideas the opposition has thought of to try and get back into power.
To be fair, however -- both political parties are completely corrupt, and the ones that are serious about politics are also extremist and want to take the country in directions it's simply not capable of handling.
Just to put things into perspective: the president is from the left, the entire congress (which used to be mixed) was replaced by a fraudulent 'constituent assembly' which is comprised entirely of left-party members (and people were forced to vote for them with no alternatives), and the supreme court is also loyal to the president, meaning the guy can change the constitution in almost any way he sees fit, and not have to deal with opposition (apart from protests on the streets). Oh, and there's also the bit where presidential terms last 6 years (for now, anyway) X_X
No exaggeration: not even a trained airplane pilot or famous actor can have a comfortable life there anymore.
I don't want to go into too much more detail (because frankly, I haven't done all the research) but that's the basic gist of it.

I thought it might have been Venezuela. . . .
I've heard that all the parties are corrupt.
Are there term limits?
Not that I'm aware of. Probably not. And even if there were term limits, they were probably removed anyway.
