Harrrrggh I'm pretty sure the punishments for mutiny was walking the plank, being hanged, or being marooned on an island with a bottle of rum and a pistol.  Actually they were marooned, with a musket and no extra ammunition. They never walked the plank, they just got thrown into the water. Saved trees.

(That very historical movie about pirates) Captain Jack sparrow was left on an island with a pistol!
