Nice, that’s more than me! That’s cool, any details into what it’s about? Ah, writer’s block, my ancient nemesis. Killer of creative brains since...well...creative brains existed... Nice, overcoming writer’s block is always nice!
What have you been writing? Basically it's about a ninja who is sent to secretly protect a knight as he goes on his first quest because the trip is to dangerous. Along the way they met lots creatures, friends and foes. One of the key creatures is a unicorn named Troposphere. There's a sorcerer who feels he was treated unfairly and wants vengeance for being forced into isolation. His brother has a plot later to rebel against the ruling class by planed assassinations. And there's a few other twists and subplots I have in mind as well.
I’ve been working on a novel IRL that I’m hoping to get published under a pseudonym. It’s kind of my way of introducing myself to the world of the written word, and from there I hope to take my writing (anonymously) in a direction that makes a difference!
Sounds awesome! I’ll have to check it out! It’s on the boards, right?
Writer's pop quiz! To anyone who wants to, fill in this list of trivia I'd like for you to answer:
Did any real life event inspire you to make any pieces? If so, which one?
Did any real life people inspire you to make any characters? If so, who?
Have you ever gotten a dream that made you write?
Name one writing that was inspired by something completely random!
Who's your favourite character that you made?
What's your favourite world that you made?
Has anyone else ever read your stories, except for LMBE and LMB users?
Have you ever written a story based on someone's prompt? If so, what is that prompt?
Can you recall the first ever writing you wrote?
And a bonus: Have you ever written a fanfic of your fic? For example, you wrote up a whole universe and new characters and a thick storyline, etc. and then you wrote about something that happens in that world, whether it's canon or not to your story, whether it's about a ship between your characters or about a background character, anything?
Have fun!
ooh, sounds fun!
1. None in particular that I can think of at this moment...
2. Yes, indirectly. I wrote a character with one of my best friends’ name, and indirectly, without even realizing it, wrote the character to be almost exactly like him.
3. Oh yes, many!
4. Rift Jumpers. (Please don’t ask...)
5. Oof, that’s tough. Probably a character in a novel I’m working on named Cameron. He has the most depth out of any character I’ve written so far.
6. That’s a toughie as well...probably my world in “-No Gravity-“. That one was really fun to design. I put a lot of hours into that one IRL.
7. Only fragments, when I let some people read my work. I’m super self conscious, and also don’t want to spoil my ideas. I’m even more protective of it now that I plan to publish under a pseudonym. (If I get published, that is...)
8. Yes, but I don’t remember. I’ve done lots of prompt writing. Just don’t remember the prompts...
9. Shockingly, yes. It was called “The Runner”. It was like, a seven part “book” series I wrote in like, 3rd or 4th grade. Each “book” was like, a page long. That’s when I fell in love with writing.
Bonus: Nah, I’m not really into writing fanfics...and never finished a story to write one for...
Wow... O.o That sounds so deep and intricate. Like every paragraph is a puzzle piece, with a special meaning for being where it is so that it'll make the entire picture become clear. . . What an amazing move you're making. I hope you'll succeed, while enjoying the process of creating your story along the way.
Thanks! I hope it is deep an intricate. I managed to do some introspective digging and simplified it all. It still hides hidden meaning, it’s just not a mess anymore.
Thanks! You do any writing outside of the boards?
Awesome.
I do! I've written many stories in my younger years--stuff like fiction and fantasy--and I write my own little graphic novels and comic strips, having an artist's side. I typically write short-stories when I'm writing by hand, but my comic books have been known to hit over a hundred pages.

What society predicts us teens want is annoying Cool! Best wishes on your move! ^u^ Yeah, that's probably it Of course, she lets me have anything XD
XDXD sorry.
Agreed. Thanks! ^.^ Oh, nice. XD
What got you inspired to write, do you think? :3
Ah, sorry for the late reply T_T
Me? Oh, gee. Well, narcissism was a big factor I really wanted a self insert myself in Ninjago, so then I started writing with my broken english at nine. What an origin story, huh? What about you?
Ah, see? A writer who has unlocked their full potential. Wait wait.. do you mean by putting them in a sad situation or having another character hurt them for answers?

( I hope you don't mind that I added numbers, I'm hoping it'll make thing less confusing for myself. )
1. Real life event. Yeah I believe some real events have inspired some parts of my writing, but I usually write about stuff I haven't experienced for the most part. 2. Oh yes definitely! A whole list of characters: Jadyn, Lisa, Moe, Zaida, Zarha, Gregory, Gorege, Gabe, Gavin, Grant, Omincron, Kent. Ria, Coy, Cenzy, Shane. And many others either got their names, personality or looks from real people or real people inspired their creation. And that's not including the boat load of characters based on myself and characters the are inspired but other people but don't have names or much development yet. 3. Yes, I believe so. If not dreams have inspired me at least. 4. I'm not sure... 5. Zephyr. 6. Um probably... Uh, well you see I have a few worlds and it's hard to pick a favorite. 7. Yes... XP 8. I wrote some Miraculous short stories using some prompts for a challenge I never finished. But they are horribly written and one is far to shipy for my taste. 9. I don't think so. I do know what my first Ninjago fan fiction was though...
10. Most of the writing I do for my fan fiction does end up being canon to the story however I do a LOT of daydreaming different scenes, lots of which do end up in the fan fiction but many I know may not and should not make the final cut.
(Literally, I only hate numbers on a math assignment )
1. Yeah, and sometimes the writing about things we haven't experienced yet is more realistic than the ones based on irl events 2. A...boat....load..... XDD 3. May it torture you forever trying to figure out which piece was inspired by a dream... 5. She's mine too 6. IsN'T iT??????? 8. Oh my gosh, Miraculous Ladybug???? Agghhhh I love thaattt No writing that is involved with Miraculous is too shippy. None. 9. Oh.....do tell.... 10. This is such a mood

Hmmm. . . that's a good question. Looking back, I think I've grown a fondness for themes such as fighting against evil forces and the love and intricacy of family relationships. . . I'm not sure if that makes any sense or not. xD What about you?

Hehe, it's quite all right. Been busy?
XD Aw. :3 Oh, right, you live in Indonesia. . . ? I think simply reading good and fun books when I was young made me want to create my own stories in books. I started out by trying to imitate comic books and short novels I read.

Cool! So like Good vs. Evil and pursuing family values? I’ve always chased after good vs evil, light vs dark. In fact almost every antagonist I’ve made was typically in some way associated with darkness, even if just through imagery. Lately I’ve been chasing some heavier themes, pouring all my stress and heaviness into my writing. I kind of got inspired to do it by a music artist I like (NF). He pours out all his darkness into his music, reaching out and comforting those who feel the same as him. I wanted to do the same thing through writing. I want to write things that reach out and can be understood by those who need it most. I want to make a difference through my writing.

Exactly. And sometimes comedy. I mean, this is all putting what I'm interested in simple terms. I dare not go into the dangerous intricacies of romantic relationships, the development of characters who've survived childhood trauma, human psychology and/or spiritual bonding. That's a great theme to go after; it involves a lot of inward growth and wisdom, so to truly aspire after that is an awesome move, especially after the goal to simply make a difference for people. I've heard some of NF's songs and have noticed the growing amount of fans. He sounds pretty good.

Ahh, comedy. One of the hardest genres, if we’re being honest.
Ah, yes, but those factors, especially bonding, romance, and trauma make for some really good characters, and make your characters more human and relatable.
Thanks, I hope that those who are reached and impacted by it feel that way as well.
Yes, NF has had a huge impact on my life, helping me through issues and hard times, and changing the way I look at life. He might not be the best rapper out there in some opinions, (although, I think he is...) but he’s definitely the most real and meaningful. I highly recommend his most recent album “The Search”. It’s soooo good.

So what do you look for in good characterization?
Too true. I think I've stolen too many of other people's jokes to be credited for my humor. XD
That's true. . .
You're welcome. I think they will. ^.^
Wow, that sounds pretty great--well, awesome, really, if his works have helped your through hard times. :3
Ohh, that's a hard question. . . I suppose it all boils down to how well the character's personality/journey can touch a reader and make the reader feel as if they relate to that character. Even if it's just some small, subtle way, I feel like it's important for the reader to feel there's. . . some sort of spirit in the story that they can relate to themselves; it helps make the experience all the more humanizing and captivating. . . . I have no idea if what I just said made any sense. Sorry. xD What about you?

XD It’s hard to make original content these days.
So why avoid them?
Thanks again!
Indeed. He quickly became one of my biggest role models.
That makes perfect sense, and I agree. I think a character should be relatable. If they’re not, it leaves the story feeling bland, and the reader won’t get much out of it. I think I look for genuineness the most with characters. They need to be real, relatable, genuine. Otherwise, they’re flat, static, no character development, no growth, no maturity.
What would you say is your favorite plot device to use? (Like, main character betrayal, misunderstandings, yadda yadda...?)
