I'd like for Shadow Magic to be practically unheard of/nonexistent, so I can have my RPC create Dark/Shadow Magic?
If we have magic, we'll need to decide how advanced tech is. It could be like League of Legends, with hextech, an amalgamation of tech and magic being common in wealthy places. Guns and what-not being fine, but not common place, and typically for the wealthy, while the lowers use swords?
Define Shadow Magic. Are you talking about Magic like what Shadow Charmers have in Fablehaven? Are you talking about Dark Magic from Once Upon a Time? What powers are you talking about and what differentiates them from other Magic? Also, a large amount of magic will not transfer over from person to person. Each person gets a random spell book (Or at least, it's random IC. OOC their will often be reasons.) which will have several common spells in it (a couple types of location spells, a few destruction spells, a sleeping curse etc.) and a large number of spells more specific to that spell book (a scepter that can drain life, a potion that makes the user an Elemental Being, a smoky curse that makes a creature do your bidding etc.)
In most cases, Medieval Technology. The Idea I have is that everyone is magically dropped here from random realms, and so everyone has different knowledge and weaponry and skills. So one person might have a bow, while another was dropped in holding a gun. One might know how do build plasma-based weapons while another might have once groomed horses for a noble family.
I'm not sure about Fablehaven, and nothing explicitly states what constitutes Dark Magic in Once Upon A Time. It's just, the more evil aspect of it; hexes, curses, those are dark if malicious. Using a poppet would be considered Dark Magic, and what-not. The Sleeping Curse would as well, for example.
I really don't like that idea and am firmly against it. It's more trouble than it's worth, and would just be.. Bad.

Basically, powers gifted to humans by various methods typically dealing with the undead and Demons. Once Upon A Time actually does state what is Dark Magic (at least, basic magic like telekinesis, maybe not) as magic using anger to fuel it, rather than love. It's in one of the episodes near the confrontation of the Wicked Witch. As for what you're thinking of, some will be extremely rare, others might be common to find in spell books, but maybe not commonly used.
OK.
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.

That works too. I want my character to be the first person to make Dark Magic/Shadow Magic, basically.
Gosh, how many posts can be posted in only 2 days? Anyway, I suppose I could join, but I'm not super-duper active, soooooooooo.... I don't know. I guess I could keep working on starting that Jurassic World RP that'll probably never become a reality.
Somewhere between a week and 5 months. I'm serious, I'm not sure how many Xain we've destroyed, they just seem to keep coming. And then their are those magicians we haven't so much as seen except for a glimpse by Xavic, who was captured. So yeah. . . we'll see how that goes.
Also, I have an idea for our first Straight-up Magic RP: Basically, I'll be the GM (or at least, I would LIKE to the be the GM) and each person has been sucked into a strange world with the stuff on their backs, 3 magic artifacts and a spell book! survive and conquer, learn new magic or create an army of the strange beasts that lurk in this World!
Basically, it's a free-for-all RP where the GM controls what creatures you come across and how to create magical effects. You want to create a locator spell? The GM will give you 3 or 4 different types of location spell, with different ingredients. You might need to find a cauldron, or an orb of crystal. maybe you'll need Dragons blood and Great-Worm slime. Or maybe you'll need a cat's footfall and the Soul of a Dementor.
So it’s like Dungeons and Dragons but with less no-magic and more magic? I’m in, if we cut down on the magic. I mean, make it less absolutely-must-have-can’t-not-do magic.
Complete overhaul. The name is fine, I guess, but the boards and categories need to be totally remade, as well as the rules, and certain plugins and features.
