{Spoilers for The Last Jedi! Proceed with caution!} I also thought it was confusing. What with Luke at the end. My first words after it finished were, “I’m confused. What just happened?”
My thoughts were exactly the same when it ended. It definitely took a lot of time and thought to process.
I just saw the movie earlier this week and I loved it! Episode 8 took a very different turn than I expected, but it was still a phenomenal movie in my opinion.
I do, however, have some things about the movie that I didn't quite enjoy. Massive spoilers are in the jammer below, so be warned!
{SPOILERS}I only wish we would have learned who Snoke was; he got smashed approximately ten minutes after he appeared. That, to me, is extremely anticlimactic considering the potential that the character had--and the amount of hype surrounding him. The same goes for Captain Phasma, who I thought would have a larger role in Episode 8 after Chewbacca threw her in the trash compactor back in The Force Awakens. Nope, she got smashed two minutes after she appeared, and we didn't even get a (full) face reveal. Also, that scene with Leia in space was a little weird to me. But other than that, the movie was fantastic.
{omygoodnesitsspoiliers} Actually, the Snoke thing was probably my favorite twist. We might still learn more about him in IX, but I really liked seeing that element of the Sith ideology on screen (the whole ambition/Rule of Two sorta thing, ya know) (even though he and Kylo were not technically Sith). I'm curious to see if Kylo will have his own apprentice next time, possibly another of the Knights of Ren. His target, however, I am sure will be Rey.
I disagree. I cried during episode 6. (The ending) The Ewoks are cool...
They, with their sticks and stones, were able to take out armoured Stormtroopers.
Oh, yeah, and their giant logs that smashed the walker. That actually makes logical sense. (except when you start to wonder about how they tied them to the trees in the first place ) Honestly, they don't do much that completely defies logic when you really look at everything they do individually rather than thinking about the general idea of them being able to beat the stormtroopers.
Hello, having seen the Last Jedi and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT, I was wondering what other people thought of the movie. (Please remember to put any spoilers in jammers. )
Personally, I think it was the most exciting, interesting, and certainly the most surprising, while still remaining faithful to its predecessors.
I think its going to be rememberd as one of those films that people either love or hate. Opinion
{Opinion in jammer} For me I thought it was an average film but there was far too many poorly timed ridiculous comedy elements especially with Chewie and the Porgs.
The pros for me were:
Kylo Rens evolution from whiny bratt to a pretty intimidating cruel villan.
Old Luke and Yodas appearance even if Yoda did look a bit off facially.
The graphics and space battle over D'Qar.
The brilliant fight sequence of Rey and Kylo Ren against Snokes Praetorian guard.
Canto Bight DJ: Hes a really cool/clever character.
Snokes funny suprise death.Even though I dont think hes dead as he/Andy Serkis has been cast for the next film cos he might be a character who can reposes bodies.
Lukes scenes on the island along with the island native amphibion people. The resistance vs FO skimmer fight on Crait was beautiful.
Lukes suprise illusion duel with Kylo Ren.
Luke becoming one with the force whilst watching the binary sunset.
Vice Admiral Holdo
Liutenant Connix aka Carrie Fishers daughter being given a bigger part.
I thought that was very kind of Lucasfilm
Cons: BB-8 piloting the FO AT-ST was stupid. The flash back scene where Luke was about to strike down Kylo Ren in his sleep after sensing his evil movtives.
Mark Hamills face was hilarious.
Ackbars uneccesary death.
Snokes epic star destroyer.
Daisy Ridleys acting.
Leia still being alive.
I know Lucasfilm were probably trying to be respectful to Carrie Fisher due to her recent passing yet I find it almost even more insulting to keep the character alive rather than give her an emotional send off when she realistically cant be in episode 9.
Shes also not the sort of character to just disapear from a fight.
General Hux:Need I say more.
Leia litterally forcing herself back to the ship was ridiculous.
T
he weird misleading info about who Reys parents might be and Kylo saying that they were just scavengers. Seems like a bit of a downer for something that could've been quite interesting. But it may be deliberate to sway people off.
Overall I would give the film a 3/5.
I like that your opinion is fair, and you look at both sides instead of just needlessly hating every aspect of it just because it was produced by Disney.
So overall I liked it, while there are some parts I admit didn't make a whole lot of sense, overall it was a downright awesome film, a smashing good time, it was everything I wanted and more. I went in wanting to be surprised, and I came out dumbfounded at how surprised I had been. I don't know what rating I'd give it out of 10, but definitely a high one.
