Well, I hoped you are surprised to be surprised by the amount of surprising surprises in the movie
I absolutely did, at least I think so because that sentence was hard to follow. But what I mean is, it was very surprising and it surprised me. Plenty of moments where my jaw literally dropped, it was immensely satisfying.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It definitely had a lot of plot twists I wouldn't have seen coming. I'm really glad I went in unspoiled.
I just want to make sure no one spoils the new Star Wars movie for anyone on here. I trust the users here not to do that out of common courtesy, but even Jammers have to be read by the Mods.
So please, out of respect for the Mods and their work, don't discuss any spoilers on here for at least a couple weeks after the film comes out so they all get a chance to see it.
Not everyone here can see it opening day. So please be respectful and keep your posts spoiler-free.
Note: You might think this should be on the Star Wars board, but this movie is such a big deal that I thought it would be safer to put it here so more people see it. Also, this could pertain to any major film release in the future, so maybe this could be a new policy or something.
So glad I haven't mentioned any spoilers yet, especially in jammers. And yes, I agree that this should be a new rule.
About my reaction to the movie, I'm honestly disappointed with it (more on this soon; still non-spoilery). 5/10.

As am I. I did sort of hear from an untrustworthy source (YT comment before the movie came out) about the last big thing that happened (you probably know what I mean) but I didn't believe it and by the time it happened I was already confident it wasn't going to. It wasn't even nearly the most surprising thing that happened anyway, so I don't really care.

I was overwhelmed as I walked out of the theater. Didn't even know what to think. I definitely liked it overall, but I think I'll see it a second time next month if I can. I think that'll help me form a more solid opinion on it.

Yup, maybe I do need a second viewing (how many times do I have to say the same friggin thing? ). Hopefully tomorrow but i doubt it since it'll already be Christmas here in about 2 hours and 15 minutes and the traffic will be crazy. Also, the lines to the ticket booth at the theater will be long due to the popular but garbage movies that take over theaters here every Christmas until January 7 (in other words, TLJ will only show in IMAX, 4D, or any some other premium formats).

Weird. I wouldn't think that a SW movie would be overrun by anything else as long as it was in theaters.

That happened to the Hobbit movies too here in my country. Not sure if TLJ will be coming back to theaters tomorrow (January 8 here) though, but basing on the schedule of the movies tomorrow, it doesn't seem like it'll return to all theaters unlike The Force Awakens.

That's really weird. It must not have been doing well there for some reason. What country are you in?

I'm from the Philippines, and Star Wars movies usually do well here (well, for its first week at least, excluding TFA). TLJ just came back here last Monday and seeing how many theaters (or cinemas) are showing it, which are around 25, it seems like its final box office results here will be lower than TFA. TLJ at least showed for 2 weeks last year until being cut off from theaters (except for IMAX, 4D, and other formats) on Christmas. TFA showed for one full week and when it returned to theaters on January 8 of 2016, it was given around 5-7 more weeks of release as if it was a regular release or as if January 8 was its new release date, so I was able to have my second viewing of TFA 2 weeks (and 1 day ) later. Not sure about how Solo will do here though given that a certain X-Men stand-alone movie will show a week before it (and Infinity War's possibly "mega-weekend" just happened 5 weeks before).

Well, that is certainly very interesting, but I wouldn't expect Jedi to make as much as Force did ANYWHERE. TFA was a cinematic event. And, yeah, I'm not too sure how well Solo will perform anywhere compared to all the other Star Wars movies ever. I think it will most likely be the lowest-grossing SW movie in history (adjusted for inflation).
