I like the first idea, making the castle a sort of retreat from whatever is going on in any of the other worlds. I guess it's true that it could be used as an advantage in a fight, but I think we can work that out if necessary.
The second idea is also good, but it sounds like way too much of a challenge.
I agree.
That was basically a more detailed version of my idea. A bunch of portals leading to all the worlds.
'kay ignore my idea. Disney Castle with portals sounds the coolest.
TheGreatCon has already claimed Mushu, actually. And...well, RomeNZ has claimed Mufasa, so...how does that work, like...is he alive, then, or is he a ghost...what's going on here. I'm not sure that really works, unfortunately. Besides those two, the other characters are all yours.
(That is, are we including POTC in this?)
Et is Disney, it'd be a bit o' a shame ef ye di'n't...
But then, Marvel and star wars are disney too.
But they have their own RPs. We're talking original Disney here.
That was basically a more detailed version of my idea. A bunch of portals leading to all the worlds.
Seeing as we have a decision here, I suppose it's time for the next topic. How should the other topics/worlds work?
My idea is we have a world for the various films we have already, should a character here be represented. (If someone brings in characters from other films, we can open that world for business.) That way, we don't have to stuff every imaginable Disney world into this thing, and have mass confusion. Characters would be able to go through worlds as they please, as long as they follow the map, or take a castle route from the center of the world. (No warping across the board, essentially, like in Castle or LOTR, but maybe make the time limit shorter to speed things up.)
Worlds can be taken in combat, and individuals or groups that own the turf can do as they please. Build defenses, keep intruders out, allow friends in to have fun, pretend to let someone in and then KO them when they least expect it, look for honey, etc. Blocking of castle portals or entrances is STRICTLY PROHIBITED, though defenses can be placed nearby. If the current commander of turf is defeated, another player can claim the defeated parties' turf if they're fast enough. One player may need to keep track of who has what, or we could make a report topic to report who has what.
There can be various factions/armies, formed by various players if they want to team up. Of course, they can betray one another in this case, split up, unite and share turf, etc.
Again, more ideas that are up for discussion.
Sounds interesting. I’m intrigued by this idea that it’s all on a board, like a board game.
So, here's something for us to think about - how will NPCs work? (Non Player Characters, used for armies and stuff like that).
For example, in TLK Scar has a hyena army. Some, like the main three, could be played as characters by users, but we don't have enough people for the entire army to be played. There are similar cases across Disney, like the Elephant Herd in TJB.
So, do we just only have as many as can be played by users, or do the main users (Scar for the hyenas, for example) get to control a certain number of minions? How many should they get?
I’d say, most armies I’ve seen in Disney films have about 100 men, since they’re not the deepest of films. Though I may be completely wrong. I’d say 100 NPCs.
What are the rules on Disney subsidiaries? I'm assuming Lucasfilm and Marvel characters aren't allowed, but then in that case are Pixar ones ruled out? What about PotC? Is it animation allowed but live-action not? Is it anything PG-13 not allowed, but below is?
I’d say live-action should be allowed. Doesn’t hurt to have more characters to choose from.

(Before I say anything, I apologize for sounding like a beginning RPer. )
I'm a little confused about the bolded part. So, this "map" you speak of...once we get all the worlds together in the order we want them, we have to drop a post in each one saying something along the lines of "[this character] passes through [this world]" in order to get where we're going? Or am I interpreting this all wrong.
I’d say, we make a post saying “*Travels through the dimensional portal to the Disney Castle.*”. Then, they wait a day or so, and then say “*Goes through the dimensional portal to *wherever*.”

I think I understand -- so in this case, three users would play the main three hyenas, while the rest would just be assumed to be there and still be under Scar's command despite not being represented by a user. That seems like it'll work, though I'm not sure what a good number of minions would be. Or it might be easier to restrict the minions to the three played by users, like you said.
I’d say building chains, but that might overcomplicate things way too much for beginners.
Jack Sparrow, Bagheera, King Louie, Spirit Mufasa, Mushu.

Why not include all live-action? Doesn’t hurt anyone.
(I wouldn't count on it, but it seems like most of us will be learning together so it's cool. )
Thanks!
(You'll be fine! RPing is easier than it sounds. )
@everyone Will we be following a storyline?
Perhaps,
All the worlds live seperate from each other. Things happen in each world. Then, something big happens, and a place called the “Disney Castle” formed from pieces of each world, with portals leading to and from all the worlds, appears. Characters begin to use these portals for adventure, discovery, and personal gain.

I’d say live-action should be allowed. Doesn’t hurt to have more characters to choose from.
But then wouldn't that include Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, and Spider-Man? I thought Marvel/Lucasfilm stuff wasn't allowed, but if that isn't allowed, why should Pixar be? We need to set up a specific rule regarding what characters/locations/objects are and are not allowed (if there isn't one already.)
