If I had to guess, it's due to the increasing number of pictures on the site, including signatures. But again, that's just a guess. There could also be some coding in the theme you're using that's making it harder to load pages. I'm not sure on that one at all, though, given that I haven't so much as looked at the theme coding recently.

Hmm, I've never had it happen to me. If I may ask, what browser did it happen on, and what is the theme you are currently using? Also, could you include a screenshot?
I suspect it's probably an error with the browser loading the image, or your internet settings being wierd, not actually a problem on our end, as I've seen some bizarre things happen as once or twice-offs.
