Whos for a Luke solo film with him played by Sebastian Stan aka the Winter soldier? It could be set in the 30 year gap between ROTJ where Luke an R2 are travelling the galaxy in search of new jedi recruits who would eventually see their demise at the hands of Kylo & his knights of Ren buddies.
Even Mark Hamill is for the idea of sebastian stan playing a younger version of him and Sebastian is also familar with working for Disney in terms of marvel studios.
My only issue with this really cool potential idea not happening is that we will probably see what happens to luke between 6 &7 either in SW battlefront 2 or in the last jedi/ episode 10 flashbacks. Though 30 years is a huge gap for many potential stories perhaps one where Luke meets a young Lor San Tekka an we see some familar EU jedi from the jedi academy series put into canon or new versions of them.

That's actually a good idea. But I know what you mean about putting those sorts of storylines it in a game. Something like The Force Unleashed would make an awesome standalone film, but probably seen as "not enough" to be one. But since Disney is branching out on films such as a Han Solo film, then it is probable. I'm also looking forward to the Obi-Wan film! Well, actually that's also just a rumour.

Surviving imperial agents like a canon version of Lumiya or Mara Jade. Mara Jades a risky choice though as you would believe her to end up with Luke like in the EU.

i've never been a fan of new actors playing the classic characters, but since solo is already a thing, this movie would be great (especially with sebastian). the thing i want most is a movie about sith history (narrowing that down to the time of darth plagueis would be more likely, but let me dream about darth bane and everything in between being included)

I think these new standalone films with new actors playing younger versions of classic characters have the potential to be great but it all depends on their likeness and acting ability.
