As Kai was lead down the center of the room, both humans and felines watched silently with cold, menacing stares. The cats that had been following them down the hall departed and dispersed among the others, casting Kai glares as they twitched their fluffy ears. The two men took him to the foot of the tallest rock and forced him to his knees. “Get your grubby hands off me!” He snapped. He didn’t like this silence, he didn’t like these people, he didn’t like these cats, and he certainly didn’t like whatever they were doing to him. Surveying the area, he got the feeling that he was just taken into some sort of throne room. Movement from the boulder caught his eye, and he looked up. A black cat stretched lazily on its belly on the very top of the boulder, haughtily flicking its tail and watching Kai coldly. Silver markings outlined its emerald-green eyes, which for some reason looked familiar to Kai, but he couldn’t recall where he had seen them before. Every person and feline watched the black cat, waiting. Kai shifted impatiently on his knees before his captors, wishing someone would just talk already. Then, someone did. Or, to be precise, something. The black cat opened it jaws and spoke in a icy, female voice. “Behold; the Son of Fire. One of the famed guardians of Ninjago.” Kai, utterly dumbfounded at the sight of a talking cat, opened his mouth, then shut it. The feline tilted her head at him. “Surprised, are you? I’m not. Very few of your kind have heard of our tribe, and when they do. . .” Her voice fell to a hush. “. . . They don’t usually live long enough to tell the tale.” Kai finally found his voice. “Wha—what are you??” She stood up with a contemptuous smirk. “What am I? Why, I—I am a. . .” At this she leapt to the floor in front of him, landing gracefully on all fours. Kai watched in shock as the cat’s body began to grow and convulse. She stood on her hind legs, her black fur and silver markings faded away, her tail retreated back into her body, and her face began to flatten. The fluffy ears and whiskers melted into her head, and long black hair grew from it, stretching down her back. Her nimble paws grew wide and flattened, then split apart at the ends into fingers. Her hind legs melded into humanoid structure, leaving her barefoot on the ground. Before he knew it, a human woman stood before him, tilting her head at him. “. . .Yokai.” She finished smoothly. Kai’s jaw dropped, and he stared at her. She was clothed in dark animal skins that fell above her ankles and showed her pale neck. The long sleeves split at the end and fell stylishly at her elbows. She was a young, lithe young woman who surprisingly looked only a little older than was, but her muscles and hard gaze showed that she wasn’t some inexperienced teenager fooling around. He was unnerved by the pure hatred she glared at him with, and he wondered what he did to make her gaze at him with such contempt. He tried to compose himself and demanded. “Who are you? Why am I here? Let me go right now before I—!” “You what?” Her red lips curled into a sneer. “Set our tails ablaze? Go ahead; try it. I’d like to see the Master of Fire in action.” She gestured to his captors, and the long-haired man produced a jagged knife. With a quick slice, they cut Kai’s bonds and stepped away. Kai didn’t hesitate. He leapt to his feet and aimed his hands at the woman, but only a few smoking sparks were produced. She chuckled softly, and several cats from the crowd yowled jeeringly. With a growl of frustration, Kai clenched his hands into fists and charged at her, but the guards snarled and slammed him into the floor, wrestling him down. More hisses and caterwauls sounded from behind him, and not just from the cats. A glance at the other humans in the cavern revealed that they were baring feline-like teeth, and several were standing on all fours. Their calls were eery and bone-chilling, but Kai refused to be intimidated by them. When his guards had him kneeling on the floor again and head shoved down to the ground, the woman crouched down next to him and murmured smoothly into his ear. “Who am I? I am Black Blood, daughter of Silver Mist, leader of the Tribe of the Moon. . . And you are about to pay for what you have done to us.” Kai forced his head up and glared into her startling bright green eyes. “I didn’t do anything to you! I’ve never even heard of you! You’ve got the wrong guy!” “Are you not Kai, son of Ray, the Master of Fire, the red ninja, and one of the protectors of Ninjago?” She hissed. “Uh. . . Yeah.” “Then we have the right human, and more.” She stood up and turned to a black and white cat sitting nearby. “Raven Frost, tell Holly Tail and Fire Paw to bring the Daughter of Amber to me.” Raven Frost dipped his head and padded into the shadows of another tunnel nearby. Kai wriggled rebelliously under his captors’ grips and exclaimed. “What did I ever do to you? What is going on?!” Black Blood gripped his left arm and stared into his eyes. “All will be revealed in good time, Son of Fire.” She purred as she drew the sleeve away, exposing his bare forearm. She raised a hand, and it molded into a black, furry paw. Long, sharp claws unsheathed slowly, and then she swiped smoothly at his skin. Kai gritted his teeth, refusing to show any pain. She inspected her paw and, to his disgust, casually licked at it. “This will prove to be helpful to us. Thank you.” She turned when several people appeared from the dark tunnel entrance. A dark haired, blue-eyed man (who looked strikingly similar to the black and white cat), was in the lead, followed by a man and a woman dragging along. . . “Skylor!” Kai exclaimed.

Eww..... I think the font should be a bit larger (or the words can be spaced out a bit more). But either way, nice part!
